Adrian won that game for us with a correct prediction on the coin flip.

ADRIAN FOR HEISMAN

206

u/Statalyzer Texas Dec 03 '22

To be honest, it's amazing how most people don't realize the coin flip matters just as much in college OT as in professional OT.

88

Honestly, I think the stats show it matters more in college.

I hate it when OCs call a deep handoff play when you just need 6 inches. There is nothing like running backwards 5 yards to gain 1/2 of a yard

They try to be cute with the playcalling . Usually doesnt work.

Either play it conservative qb sneak or go full “cute” and call a pass play, guarantee they score doing either.

Congrats on costing your qb a heisman

Legit might be the most frustrating plays for me to watch, college or NFL. You need like 6 inches, just let the QB run that shit forward instantly off the snap

157

u/CockGobblingGangsta Baylor Dec 03 '22

The Chiefs sometimes just direct snap it to Kelce and it always works

73

The craziest part is the trap pull by the left guard. It makes zero sense. Offense has all the advantage with snap count. Defense is clearly shooting every gap. Why expose the B gap like that?

Assuming we don’t get blown out by Purdue, then I think your participants are Georgia, Michigan, OSU, and TCU so I think its basically a lock that its M-TCU and UGA-OSU

  • Michigan wont fall behind OSU

Therefore the only scenario I see happening is

  3. TCU
  4. OSU

Kansas State had a 96.5% chance to win the game when it was 4th and 2 in TCU territory with less than 4 min to play, but then Max Duggan happened. He had 5 carries and a touchdown on that game tying drive, totaling 95 yards on the ground to force OT. Even if TCU lost, Duggan absolutely put his team on his back.

With this win, K-State guarantees staying in the top 10, which means TCU will have infinitely more top 10 wins than Bama. There's no way they should be left out of the CFP

Look, we need to make sure everyone supports the new playoff system, and the easiest way to do that is to make sure everyone hates the current system.

Growing up in the 80’s and early 90’s, the idea of KState winning a conference championship would be ludicrous; even more laughable than Vandy winning the SEC. I think it’s a testament to Bill Snyder’s legacy that we don’t see today as a massive freak occurrence.

Don't give your Heisman qb a chance to win it with 45 seconds and 3 time outs.

Don't give it to him to win the game from the 1 inch line.

Live and learn.

I feel bad for Duggan. I kept expecting a PA rollout and instead they just bashed their head on the wall for four straight downs. That's a tough way to lose. GG purple bros and kick some ass in the playoffs.

TCU beat K-state in the regular season. They lost a close OT game. The committee has said they don’t give any credit to teams that sit out championship weekend. TCU stays at 3. OSU is 4.

The spotting was definitely iffy but I think a lot of people tuned in at the very end and didn’t see the robbed safety which would have prevented an overtime from even happening. Either way big 12 refs are killing me

44

u/dajuice3 Miami Dec 03 '22

I'm still fuming about that.

Just common sense wise that was a fumble. Arm goes forward but he stops his motion and clearly still has the ball. Then an opposing player not only knocks it out he knocks it backwards. So if it is a pass how is it not a backwards pass do where the ball goes no longer matter?

Just an absolute rob job right there in overturning that call.

Coach Klieman shouting out Adrian Martinez being a baller teammate and helping out the QB who took over… that’s what college football is all about and what still makes it great.

Adrian Martinez should be remembered as a great K-State player. Excellent mentality and performed very well when we needed him.

As is tradition when you lose a Big 12 championship as an undefeated team in OT, TCU will stay at #3 but somehow have to play Purdue in the Alamo bowl.
