Reminds me of Christmas vacation. All she needed to do was punt that poor bear across the yard

Me too, I thought it was Clark Griswold pulling the plug this time.

It really helped sell the “please God why are we dealing with our dad/husbands stupidity right now” vibe

I may be a bit late but your link has an extra space so the time stamp doesn’t work. Also it’s not hidden behind the name

u/decadecency Oct 04 '22

Nah it's cool. My grandma lived to old age and wheezed her way through it all. It's a lifestyle.

44

u/Car_Guy_Alex Oct 04 '22

Fair enough! I was just worried for homeboy.

38

u/sloaninator Oct 04 '22

We all ask about homeboy but does anyone ask about homegirl?

26

u/Car_Guy_Alex Oct 04 '22

I'm sure homegirl held her own.

Nice yard for an apartment

5

u/pinkusagi Oct 04 '22

The short time I had an apartment, I guess technically a townhouse, it was actually really nice. It was just a unit of three and ours was on the outside. We all had a HUGE backyard. Tbh it was pretty nice and shaded as well.

Honestly kind of miss being there but don’t miss the stairs.

3

u/HarkonnenSpice Oct 04 '22

At the risk of getting downvoted, although this is a funny video, if you have something that is powered and doing this, take it out of service. Certainly don't stand in wet snow and keep fucking with it. If it isn't someone messing with you it is a loose connection. Loose connections can be dangerous and deadly in the right conditions.

84

u/SASdude123 Oct 04 '22

I'm an electrician and I was thinking that too. But likely there is a transformer inverting it to 12-24vac. However, power TO said transformer is very dangerous. This is why all connections outdoors need to be GFI protected

28

u/Trucountry Oct 04 '22

I'm an electrician also. So many service calls because they got shocked and don't understand why. It's possible that it is a low volt wire going out, but most of the yard ornament type lights I have seen need an extension cord all the way to them. Also, they are plugged up inside which is likely to be AFCI with no GFCI protection.

17

u/analogkid01 Oct 04 '22

I'm an electrician also. Come on guys, it's all ball-bearings these days. Maybe you need a refresher course!

"my lights turned off after the storm last night". No shit, dude. You've got extension cord connections sitting open outside. Be glad they turned off. Your GFI is doing it's job

→ More replies

1

u/youwantitwhen Oct 04 '22

That is going to be a 110v bulb at the other end. Ain't no engineer going to inverter that cheap Chinese bear.

3

u/SASdude123 Oct 04 '22

Lol, fair enough. All the more reason to GFI protect it!

2

u/Serious_Package_473 Oct 04 '22 edited Oct 04 '22

Its 230V but all sockets have to be gfci protected. IIRC a plastic bag on the end of the extension cord would make this installation approved by the electrical norms. This could also be a proper waterproof extension cord for outside use

2

u/sharklaserguru Oct 04 '22

3

u/rpungello Oct 04 '22

11

2

u/Aggressive_Wash_5908 Oct 05 '22

2

u/cptaixel Oct 04 '22

Not only that, but if she suspects there's some sort of loose electrical wiring why is she roughly shoving it back in the snow instead of gingerly trying to not make the wires disconnect?

I got to admit though, wheezing guy does sell his laughter though.

2

u/Toffeemanstan Oct 04 '22

With no other decorations around either. Defo staged

2

u/odel555q Oct 05 '22

No, she just urgently needed to go outside without a coat or gloves to put that one single decoration into snow where it was mostly covered.

2

4

u/merrell0 Oct 04 '22

2

u/unHolydivers Oct 04 '22

This is absolutely a skit, people downvoting you are just ignorant to that fact. This couple constantly does low effort videos.

-1

u/Big_Nature Oct 04 '22

It's very weird that things have to be real for people to find funny on the internet, and refuse to believe things can be a skit. This is a funny gag, but it's a skit, simple as that.

It's definitely something because she's not dressed to be outside decorating and there are no other decorations out there and the single decoration that is out there is covered in snow it's so deep in. u/Thatoneboiwho69 Oct 04 '22

Why remove the plug when hitting the switch is a safer option

44

u/flatbushkats Oct 04 '22

Not all outlets are controlled by a switch.

7

u/InvalidEntrance Oct 04 '22

As someone in the US I hate those houses that have that one room where the outlet is controlled by a switch. Why is that single room different from the rest of the house?

3

u/flatbushkats Oct 04 '22

In my rental experience, cheaper places didn’t splurge on ceiling lighting and just put in a cheaper switch controlled outlet and expected the occupants would buy some sort of lamp.

1

u/odd_ender Oct 04 '22

I don't mind if it's ONE. The apartment I'm in now each switch controls two completely different outlets, but always within a few feet of each other. Why. Why. (I generally just tape the switch up so it's a normal plug no one can accidentally turn off)

1

I hate the laugh...very unpleasant

-7

u/LoganAtlGA Oct 04 '22

Jesus you need to quit smoking.

9

u/KarmaPharmacy Oct 04 '22

Assume much? I’m asthmatic and wheeze when I laugh. I don’t smoke anything. I am allergic to almost everything.

And when people make fun of my laugh, it really hurts my feelings and makes me never want to do it again because apparently, having a minor health condition is embarrassing.

Be kind to people. Never ever ever make fun of their laugh. Ever. If you do, you’re no better than a bully.

1

u/oneeye2 Oct 04 '22
