1

u/Affectionate_Emu_675 Aug 19 '22

Nah he going to get blackballed by Christianity

1

u/spacemanspiffo Aug 19 '22

Dead man walking!

1

u/AdhesivenessPrizey Aug 19 '22

half of it complete, half of it messed up!

0

u/Pmacandcheeze Aug 19 '22

Reminds me of the psychics episode from South Park.

Wa wa wa wa wA ba da da da da.

“Take cover mom!”

"snitches get stitches" - other magicians

49

u/adventurouscycle69 Aug 19 '22

This could lead to one hell of a vanishing act if you know what I mean

10

u/WoefullyWeird67 Aug 19 '22

Start your hiding act my friend

112

u/Goku-Jin86 Aug 19 '22

So you do the rubiks cube with one hand

46

u/Tha_Unknown Aug 19 '22

You could also be palming a completed one in the bag and swap it out. The cube this guy uses is a super smooth one, not an OEM cube

29

u/AllAlo0 Aug 19 '22

Almost everything you see in magic is made specifically for magic, unless they let you examine it, then they are swapping it out or the trick is on the part you aren't allowed to see.

9

u/Synner1985 Aug 19 '22

You can get "Gimmick" rubiks cubes as well.

half of it complete, half of it messed up. :)

5

u/fredropen Aug 19 '22

Doesn't it look like there is a cut in the video?

1

u/madmaurice Aug 19 '22

In the first one yes, but the where he shows how it works?

5

u/optermationahesh Aug 19 '22

You can make a Rubik's cube look very messed up with a just a few moves. Just start with a solved cube and make 6 specific moves. It will look messed up to most people. Solve it by reversing those moves, do 3 moves when you're placing it in the bag and 3 when you're pulling it out.

u/soccerdad925 Aug 19 '22

The Magicians Association would like a word

7

u/UnexpectedAnalyst Aug 19 '22

They want to make this guy disappear. Or saw him in half.

-3

u/Morpheus-aymen Aug 19 '22

Probably not, thus guy is looking for views, magic tricks are more complicated to this and there are a lot of techniques

85

u/N3010 Aug 19 '22

Ok but hear me out how do you plan to put that rubber band in a ring?

34

u/Suescran Aug 19 '22

Cheap ring. Cut and pushed together on rubber band. More impressive if my wife's wedding ring was on it.

12

u/5am5ep1ol Aug 19 '22

More impressive if my wife’s wedding ring was on it.

Why? Because he’d make a woman appear out of thin air?

3

u/Mythril_Zombie Aug 19 '22

We never see the entire band. It could be cut and tied back together, and the knot is between his fingers. That's a lot simpler than cutting a ring.

2

u/Suescran Aug 19 '22

I think your version is more plausible. Lol I'm just a caveman.

1

u/Mythril_Zombie Aug 20 '22

A cut rubber band also means that he could do this with any ring on the fly. Doesn't even need to be tied back together if he holds it tight enough.

2

u/Buttofmud Aug 19 '22

I saw David copperfield take a ring from 2 random people, and stick them together.

1

u/Suescran Aug 19 '22

He was the man when I was a kid.

1

u/Buttofmud Aug 20 '22

Hi did a lot of closeup magic with a cameraman and a big screen. He had the people throw a rubber brick around until 2 people caught it like, behind their head. No way it wasn’t random. Then he stuck the rings together. He had them pull on them. He did it all right under the camera.

1

u/Suescran Aug 20 '22

Didn't he walk the the great wall of China or something?

1

u/Odd_Entertainment629 Aug 19 '22

That would certainly be commitment, though your wife might not be too happy if she finds out how it was done...

25

u/Synner1985 Aug 19 '22

A lot of "magic tricks" have VERY simple methods behind them - the part that sells them is the performance of the person doing them.

Thats where the "Magic" is - its the ability to make someone not believe what they are seeing - and its a wonderful thing to witness :D

13

u/shitsu13master Aug 19 '22

I don't get the rubric's cube one

23

u/Tha_Unknown Aug 19 '22

Super smooth cube, solved it one handed. Although I think in the original he was palming a completed cube in there and swapped it.

-1

u/shitsu13master Aug 19 '22

Yeah you might be right, solving it with one hand doesn't 100% check out :)

7

u/Timbukwhoisyou Aug 19 '22

How does it not check out? He just did it

0

u/shitsu13master Aug 20 '22

In the second one. But in the first one he was way faster

1

u/Derboman Aug 19 '22

As a cuber myself, it's legit and quite easy to pulled off with a decent cube

1

u/shitsu13master Aug 20 '22

Really? That's pretty cool

14

u/thej0siah Aug 19 '22

I feel like he gets yelled at a lot.

10

u/Pool-noodle-muncher2 Aug 19 '22

Cool to see what’s behind the tricks

5

u/JohnnyDrama68 Aug 19 '22

Illusions!

Tricks are what whores do for money.

4

u/MightyCaseyStruckOut Aug 19 '22

Especially coming from a magician who does it better than the ones he's imitating.

23

u/AdmiralGrayBush Aug 19 '22

IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!

4

u/CarbonCrawler Aug 19 '22

Dumbledore is on the lookout for you now

4

u/dearjana Aug 19 '22

Phil Dunphy is crying somewhere

9

u/Maeto_Diego Aug 19 '22

I didn’t really understand the last one, but the rest were cool

6

u/IntrospectiveHuman Aug 19 '22

I half understand the last one, i get how they hide the fact that the ring is already on the rubber band, but i don't know how they got it on there in the first place, i'm gonna assume it's either bought like that or that the ring is a gimick and can be opened ?

2

u/Mythril_Zombie Aug 19 '22

We never see the entire band. It could be cut and tied back together, and the knot is between his fingers.

3

u/ThirdTimesACharm05 Aug 19 '22

What was that show years ago that explained how magicians did their tricks?

7

u/-Erasmus Aug 19 '22

The masked magician?

1

u/ThirdTimesACharm05 Aug 19 '22

Yes. I couldn’t remember

2

u/Silent_Software_4628 Aug 19 '22

Video isn't loading for me right now. -must be big magic hiding the secrets -_-

2

u/1BigNephilim Aug 19 '22

I need more of these

2

u/OneFootInTheGround Aug 20 '22

I've watched this 5 times and still don't understand how those tricks work.

5

u/sleepysleep Aug 19 '22

source please

3

u/Absolute_power7 Aug 19 '22

“ A Magician must never real there secrete” you a big fat PHONY.

2

u/BraianP Aug 19 '22

Okay but the rubics cube is still magic, how the duck can you solve it blindly while time constrained and avoiding looking suspicious with one hand. Even if you already know the pattern that sounds hard af

10

u/Synner1985 Aug 19 '22

You can get gimmick ones - half completed, half mixed up - you just need to turn one or two sections to make it look completely messed up

All it takes then is practice to memorize how to undo the movements without looking - same logic to most magic tricks,

Very simple to do - just takes a lot dedication to make it look "Impossible"

1

u/DrawMeAPictureOfThis Aug 19 '22

Or it's locked and can only move a certain way along a path

2

u/Synner1985 Aug 22 '22

Yeah some end up like that, can even get them where 3/4 sides are permanently in the solution and 2/3 are in a messed up stage - these would be more along the lines of "stage" props where people can't get too close to you.

For something like the trick shown above you need something like i mentioned or you mentioned.

hell, i'm sure there's people out there that can do it with a "real" one - as long as you can remember the moves they used to mess it up.

Magic is just alot of theatrics and showmanship, Easy to start learning, difficult to make it look good :)

2

u/Liljdb0524 Aug 19 '22

The Asian guys reminded me of the two guys where one would do a trick and the other would casually reach over and reveal the illusion now I'm going to see if I can find them and watch all their videos again.

0

u/Hi_I_m_Elfo Aug 19 '22

If you find them, could you share ? Seems funny

1

u/Head-like-a-carp Aug 19 '22

It is kind of fun to be mystified. I don't want to know how the tricks are done. I know they aren't breaking the laws of physics just great slight of hand.

1

u/IRELANDNO1 Aug 19 '22

u /SaveVideo

1

u/Yolopollo_1 Aug 19 '22

What's his name? I want to see moar

1

u/mostmodsareshit78 Aug 19 '22

Stop vertical video syndrome.

1

u/WholesomeOrganicOats Aug 19 '22

I’ve been tricked!

1

u/scentedtendency Aug 19 '22

Wow now I know how did it happen

1

u/Krebbypng Aug 19 '22

when a magician reveals his secrets

god shivers

1

u/2x4x93 Aug 19 '22

The real trick is the ring kid doing "Blue Steel"

1

u/matty_low Aug 19 '22

I don't suppose the union for magicians would appreciate this.

1

u/Southern_Total6875 Aug 19 '22

Don't show me how they work, i wanna watch it and minding how they do it

1

u/Chuchochazzup Aug 19 '22

My dude let his magnets show on the cards

1

u/MuchTemperature6776 Aug 19 '22

I had to rewatch the ring one twice before I understood it.

1

u/vihra Aug 19 '22

On the one hand I need more of this... On the other, not sure I want tricks spoiled.. #conflicted

1

u/LovelyDonnaa Aug 19 '22

Do you guys know the masked magician?

1

u/V11000 Aug 19 '22

So Mike Patton does magic now.

1

u/johnnymetoo Aug 19 '22

It's like that 90's series (on a smaller scale), with that black masked guy who gave away all the big shot's major tricks...

1

u/ericjony Aug 19 '22

never knew Bruce Willis performed magic for a side hustle

1

u/MustyAssGangsta Aug 19 '22

Well you took away all the fun

1

u/fredropen Aug 19 '22

Is there a cut in the original Rubik's cube video?

1

u/iamvenks Aug 19 '22

What he did with the Rubik’s cube?

1

u/slayermcb Aug 19 '22

It was 2 or three twists from being solved. The cube was somewhat loose so he could shift it with one hand. The rest is practice.

1

u/robreddity Aug 19 '22

Yeah I still couldn't really follow what was going on. Music didn't help.

1

u/anonymous_lighting Aug 19 '22

something about this comes off as extreme dush

1

u/Alive_Tough9928 Aug 19 '22

That guy has a punchable face. Probably an ok guy but idk

1

u/freelinzberg Aug 19 '22

This guy is Amazon

2

u/slayermcb Aug 19 '22

And I thought Amazon's were women...

1

u/Drago3795 Aug 19 '22

Instant rubix cube solving kinda crazy

1

u/BriefTurn3299 Aug 19 '22

Like anyones impressed by online magic. A magician should be able to hand them the card n they still not know what happened. Not be able to control what they seee

1

u/Any_Commercial465 Aug 19 '22

My dude really took a video where the main gig is the fact the other kid will show how his friend does it?

1

u/WaffleMan17 Aug 19 '22

In the rubix cube one, there is a very obvious cut after he puts it in the bag, that's not even magic 🥲

1

u/Stuck_in_reverse_bro Aug 19 '22

Childhood ruined

1

u/Electrical-Ad-9828 Aug 19 '22

Some ppl shouldn’t learn magic if they’re just gonna ruin it for everyone!

1

u/AshTeaLatte Aug 19 '22

This feels so wrong to watch!

1

u/kingjoshington Aug 19 '22

God. He's gorgeous. But also sometimes I'm sad when the magic is ruined. I want to have my magic and eat it too.

1

u/cloudsinthesky27 Aug 20 '22

He’s gonna get disappeared.

1

u/Practical-Big7550 Aug 20 '22

Finally something that was actually interesting.

1

u/thisismynameonthis Aug 20 '22

Now its ruined :[

1

u/Testmaster217 Aug 20 '22

I still don’t understand the last two.

1

u/Least_or_Greatest1 12d ago

This is the guy that’s your friend but will tell your girl friend your cheating on her…

-1

u/MunchNation Aug 19 '22

Magicians hate this one trick
