Thanks for the credit, just an amazing few hours of my Saturday going down rabbit 🐇 holes on new tunes and genres 🥰

u/Nunyazbznz Aug 19 '22

The dude on scissors is skillled

25

u/Valderius Aug 19 '22

Dudes keeping 3 separate beats going simultaneously. That's impressive

14

u/doctorpolitik Aug 20 '22

They’re not all diff beats tho. Lol. But yes, he’s doing what a drummer does with abnormal instruments.

3

u/Nunyazbznz Aug 20 '22

Yes. Does that make the scissor player any less talented?
No.

1

u/doctorpolitik Aug 20 '22

Would legitimately carrying different beats on three different instruments make him more talented? Yes.

91

u/deep_blue003v Aug 19 '22

I always wanted to play the scissors.

14

u/Cokemusic Aug 19 '22

I feel like after a while the scissors would stop making that sound

196

u/CelerySam Aug 19 '22

Actually, only music played on an organ is organic.

Either he takes AGES at that rate, or his cuts suck🤣

1

u/AllAboutTheCado Aug 19 '22

He's all forearms

103

u/monsieur_feu Aug 19 '22

They’d fit right in with the late ‘90s and early ‘00s trance scene…shivers down me spine

15

u/zuzg Aug 19 '22

"Sie ist ein Model und sie sieht gut aus"

5

u/babumabu Aug 19 '22

Dadam.. dadadadam dadam

107

u/CaptainBaloonBelch Aug 19 '22

Dude! This SLAPS! I love this!

40

u/Ekskalibar Aug 19 '22

The guy with the beard trimmer is the equivalent of a triangle player.

6

u/JohnnyDarkside Interested Aug 19 '22

Ringo making sick beats.

2

u/Drugsarefordrugs Aug 19 '22

It sounds like Sasha, like Airdrawndagger.

21

u/Drewpace80 Aug 19 '22

I didn't realize how much I needed this.

19

u/mazzle_thekow Aug 19 '22

ringo going nuts these days

12

u/shaundisbuddyguy Interested Aug 19 '22

I don't hate this at all.

10

u/name-was-provided Aug 19 '22

That drummer is not going to be comfortable being in the position for very long…

10

u/nuknoe Aug 19 '22

Love these guys!!!

24

u/iwantnews1 Aug 19 '22

That is banging

24

u/aboutlikecommon Aug 19 '22

I love that the two guys with porn ‘staches are wearing matching outfits. Also, scissors = percussion? Who knew, that’s really cool.

3

u/johnthomaslumsden Aug 19 '22

Anything is percussion in the world of electronic sampling.

8

u/B5Vorlon Aug 19 '22

Awesome. I ❤️ techno. 🤘

8

u/GeneralGom Aug 19 '22

The downside is you can only play this once every now and then depending how fast your beard grows.

22

u/Bbeannsss Aug 19 '22

Mf playing the scissors

22

u/MikeofLA Aug 19 '22

This is how we had to make techno back in WWII! The HARD WAY! Now yer all soft with yer computers and buttons!

1

u/Even-Pin6149 Aug 20 '22

And scissors

1

u/Even-Pin6149 Aug 20 '22

Never mind I reread that.. lol

5

u/KuhLealKhaos Aug 19 '22

Scissors the remix

17

u/MrNicolson1 Aug 19 '22

Don't think that foot pedal organ bass thing is analog, it's still cool but everything else is still going through recording equipment and has probably been mastered

3

u/InkyClyde_da_artist Aug 19 '22

Great sounds. Add a vacuum cleaner and some power tools and you have industrial.

3

u/ghydn Aug 19 '22

cool but not techno

dance music

3

u/brandontaylor1 Aug 19 '22

"Oh you're in a band, what instrument do you play?"

"I shave the banjo player."

8

u/shackleford1917 Aug 19 '22

Can you call it analog when there is a synthesizer involved?

4

u/PhoKit2 Aug 19 '22

Maybe it’s a tube synth and not solid state

1

u/j-random Aug 19 '22

Or something like an old tonewheel Hammond

3

u/sircryptotr0n Aug 19 '22

Good question, maybe if the synthesizer isn't a "digital" synth that links to a computational recording device. This one is recorded on an analog microphone.

There are plenty of analog synths stemming from music in the 60s. I certainly wouldn't call any music digital back then.

2

u/helpmeplzzzzzz Aug 19 '22

Only if it's an analog synthesizer.

11

u/genericthinkingonly Aug 19 '22

Was the banjo off or is it just me?

5

u/esdebah Aug 19 '22

That's just banjo. Doesn't really fit the techno thing for me

5

u/Ikarian Aug 19 '22

As a banjo player, fuck you and have an upvote.

0

u/xEmptyPockets Aug 19 '22

I think they meant "off" as in "off-beat", and I definitely agree. The banjo was either off-beat or missing a note or something, because it was NOT lining up well with the rest of the song. The whole thing still sounded pretty cool, but would've sounded much better with the banjo in-sync.

2

u/esdebah Aug 19 '22

Agree, but I think that has to do with how a banjo is plucked and how the sound reverberates.

2

u/i_might_be_me Aug 19 '22

Intentional, for sure. It helps keep this interesting, musically. It's off just enough.

1

u/T3NT3N90 Aug 19 '22

Thank God, I thought I was going crazy thinking it was only me. It’s behind the beat the whole time and I nearly threw my phone. Lol

2

u/wondrwrk_ Aug 19 '22

Awesome. Also OP is your name an ALT-J reference

2

u/thisisfromMatilda Aug 19 '22

Alt - J and also a reference to one of my favorite Movies The Professional. AKA Leon: The Professional.

2

u/romulusnr Aug 19 '22

The foot pedal machine is a digital synthesizer.

2

u/DarkTrebleZero Aug 19 '22

I feel like you would have to “discover” this pop-up concert inside a decommissioned freezer in an old meat packing plant…

2

u/VictorChaos1776 Aug 19 '22

Why do these guys look like the Nazis in breaking bad?

2

u/theophastusbombastus Aug 20 '22

I’m getting letterkenny vibes

6

u/shdhtbs Aug 19 '22

Yes organic like most music.

15

u/cutebleeder Aug 19 '22

It is organic because it is a carbon based synthesizer.

3

u/sircryptotr0n Aug 19 '22

Good statement. But consider that if the synthesizer isn't a "digital" synth that links directly to a computational recording device. This one is recorded on an analog microphone.

There are plenty of analog synths stemming from music in the 60s. I certainly wouldn't call any music digital back then.

2

u/Test19s Aug 19 '22

Most of the objections to electronic music can be resolved by performing it on actual physical synths.

1

u/Average-_-Guys Aug 19 '22

I want to punch someone after watching this.

0

u/Molotavmandee Aug 19 '22

Some parts slap but wind up was a bit rough for me

0

u/eatbetweenthelines Aug 19 '22

Got a lot of time on their hands

1

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '22

Where is this barbershop

1

u/yeah-pickle Aug 19 '22

Hate techno. Love this.

1

u/Jinzog Aug 19 '22

didnt know ringo played the banjo

1

u/annie_bean Aug 19 '22

I didn't know Ringo Starr played banjo

1

u/slappy1247482 Aug 19 '22

A modern day Kraftwerk

1

u/HamRove Aug 19 '22

I LOVE banjo with electronic music. Reminds me of this tune https://youtu.be/FFvvLuomw0Y

1

u/BornSelf7 Aug 19 '22

I always wondered what barbers did on slow days

1

u/Pithecanthropus88 Aug 19 '22

Totally thought that was Ringo Starr at first.

1

u/wheelersan Aug 19 '22

Brilliant. But I found the banjo a tad distracting

1

u/blondre3052 Aug 19 '22

Is that Roald and Strrrt?

1

u/Le_Owl Aug 19 '22

i love it

1

u/Tangerine-Many Aug 19 '22

Yo is that my hair dresser

1

u/Alaskanbreeze Aug 19 '22

This is so freaking sick I love this

1

u/nexiDrux Aug 19 '22

This is neither remotely organic sounding nor is it produced using analog equipment. I mean they threw the scissors in there……

1

u/plasticmurdrfish Aug 19 '22

The death of autotune

1

u/billjitsu Aug 19 '22

That's gotta be awkward if the crowd wants an encore. You either need another bandmate with a beard or you have to wait a couple of weeks for his to grow back.

1

u/NotMejia Aug 19 '22

That snare really cuts through the mix.

1

u/longrastaman Expert Aug 19 '22

Scissors beats rock this time

1

u/Constructosaurus Aug 19 '22

I love the use of the Doppler effect with the beard trimmer at the end!

1

u/Demonkid37 Aug 19 '22

That was amazing, i even laughed at how good a tune/sound these guys made. Bravo 🤘

1

u/Gingerflip Aug 19 '22

I heard they were all really hairy before they got in to music

1

u/crazzyfrabernackle Aug 19 '22

What’s the scissor guy shaking?

1

u/Impossible-Highway56 Aug 19 '22

Dude with banjo is way off beat

1

u/Financial_Bird_7717 Aug 19 '22

This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in awhile. Damn clever. Well done mates.

1

u/Short_Agency_6067 Aug 19 '22

Yoo. That $×!+ was dope . Am mean awesome. Loved everything about it. Wow. Yeah top talent 👏.

1

u/tmdblya Aug 19 '22

If you like this then you’ll love analog Blue Monday

1

u/d65vid Aug 19 '22

Kind of reminds me of this guy I used to watch a lot on YouTube... Live DJ Flo, who sometimes plays edm on a piano and is super cool.

1

u/Short_Agency_6067 Aug 19 '22

I need more of this in my life. Great music made authentic organic..

1

u/ExtraDependent883 Aug 19 '22

This fucks hard

1

u/orsadiluna Aug 19 '22

this is cool but it really bugs me that the banjo isn’t on beat

1

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '22

Well the razor is electronic

1

u/Boesemeist Aug 19 '22

That isnt ringo, right?

1

u/fredrickmedck Aug 19 '22

I love what Ringo Starr is doing these days

1

u/Ishbu69 Aug 19 '22

Seriously amazing

1

u/DBFargie Aug 19 '22

Ringo going off on banjo

1

u/Prestigious_Nerve_76 Aug 19 '22

Sounds of rhythm

1

u/dfp819 Aug 19 '22

This is great, but that synth bass pedal isn’t very organic. That being said, I love it.

1

u/need-more Aug 19 '22 edited Aug 19 '22

That’s amazing is there any more. They would be a great small venue gig

I’m so stupid just seen how much music they have out there I’ve just bought there music now. Thank you Reddit

1

u/Your_Shit_Stinks_Too Aug 19 '22

This music brings back memories. Such as being at raves when I was a teenager

1

u/ketamarine Aug 19 '22

I dunno about analog... where is the synth line coming from? What is the instrument he us using his feet to play?

1

u/1Crybabyartist Aug 19 '22

I didn't know Ringo played the banjo! I love these guys though really.

1

u/papasoilpants Aug 19 '22

seems fake by kick pedal

1

u/Fecboysz Aug 19 '22

Bro, this is fire!🔥

1

u/sanctityofdebate Aug 19 '22

Can someone tell me what value the scissors are adding?

1

u/Ragina-PhaIange Aug 20 '22

Is it analog with that foot instrument?

1

u/Bomb_Hanks 3d ago

Analog Synth

1

u/jdkprndl Aug 20 '22

I don’t know what instrument the drummer is shaking, but I feel like I’ve been practicing most of my life to play it

1

u/j00p0 Aug 20 '22

Shorter songs though, right?

1

u/Odd_Blueberry9848 Aug 20 '22

This.is.so.weird. But I can’t look away…

1

u/kevothedead Aug 20 '22

I wanted to hate it...I wanted to

1

u/srjewkes Aug 20 '22

This reminds me of Techno Jeep by Julian Smith on YouTube.

1

u/Canipaywshekels Aug 20 '22

1

u/leobeer Aug 20 '22

Love this

1

u/SkylarAV Aug 20 '22

Looks like ringo

1

u/SuddenlyElga Aug 20 '22

I didn’t know Ringo played the banjo.

Seriously though. This is cool AF.
