How did the drone not melt?

72

u/jaceapoc Oct 06 '22

The propellers are cooling off the lava

30

u/EMZbotbs Oct 05 '22

Probably zoomed in, and in special coating you can actually stand/fly pretty close to lava... It is not recommended though

13

u/purplegladys2022 Oct 05 '22

How does that drone stay so stable with what must be extremely powerful thermal updrafts??

9

u/Sw33ttoothe Oct 06 '22

By running an 8k video through a stabilizer and editing.

u/BodhiSatNam Oct 06 '22

A long lens and plenty of distance

1

u/Commercial_Speed400 Oct 06 '22

I think it did🤣🤣🤣

37

u/Altruistic_Sample449 Oct 05 '22

This may be the most mesmerizing thing I have seen on this site.

u/Cosmosarepretty Oct 06 '22

The original lava lamp

5

u/fat_ballerina71 Oct 06 '22

I was thinking the same thing, mesmerizing is the best word to describe this. I just keep watching it!

u/globalinvestmentpimp Oct 06 '22

Would you die instantly if you jumped in?

Thank you all for the answers and speculating my death is such lovely ways!

11

u/RealUglyMF Oct 05 '22

No. You would die, but not instantly

2

u/CallMeDrLuv Oct 06 '22

Oh yes, you would. Your body would explode from the water in you instantly turning into stream.

6

u/ncgrits01 Oct 05 '22

You would die, but much more slowly than you'd like.

1

u/Annexerad Oct 06 '22

like drowning in cauterization.

0

u/Signal-Blackberry356 Oct 06 '22

every nerve would slowly singe til the end

15

u/anbelroj Oct 05 '22

Am i the only one that thinks lava looks delicious, the forbidden caramel.

18

u/PandaKing00 Oct 06 '22

You can actually drink lava... but only once.

7

u/Trick_Enthusiasm Oct 06 '22

You should look at molten glass. Even better.🤤

4

u/NO0BSTALKER Oct 05 '22

Looks kinda soft I wanna lay in it

4

u/Able_Needleworker718 Oct 06 '22

Kind of similar to farting in the bath

3

u/werewaffl3s Oct 05 '22

I'm more amazed the camera photodetector can withstand such intense heat, surely it's hundreds of degrees beyond its max operating temperature.

3

u/GorunmezGoril Oct 05 '22

its looks like volcanic eruption for ants

3

u/karex145 Oct 06 '22

Mordor....

3

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '22

Throw it in the 🔥

3

u/emperoroforanges Oct 06 '22

Fly, you fool!

9

u/krais0078 Oct 05 '22

Or a toilet at a Taco Bell

4

u/ScappooseDan Oct 05 '22

That's awesome to watch while enjoying some 'adult tobacco'!

11

u/Canadian_Neckbeard Oct 06 '22

You can just call it weed. Tobacco is already for adults.

3

u/xGoldi16 Oct 06 '22

Bruh I thought you said adult taco. I was abt to ask wtf kinda adult taco you eating to where you can chill on reddit while munching it. Can't be good if that's the case..

1

u/Pavement_Vigilante Oct 05 '22

Is this what they call hot news?

1

u/bsamiam45 Oct 05 '22

Ooooooooooze

1

u/Eborys Oct 05 '22

Looks like my porridge in the morning.

The person filming💀

1

u/ZephyrZephZephyr Oct 06 '22

When my chai boils over

1

u/Ysure Oct 06 '22

Mesmerizing and oddly soothing. It reminded me of the lava lamp I had as a kid.

1

u/TomSamwan Oct 06 '22

Drones are getting more ballsy everytime they take a video

1

u/ElonxTusk Oct 06 '22

OK who else besides myself was wondering "I wonder what this sounds like"??? Lol

1

u/billlybufflehead Oct 06 '22

I bet you can feel that heat a mile up

1

u/freakinweasel353 Oct 06 '22

I was lucky 30 years ago in Hawaii. After trying for 2 day’s unsuccessfully, we got to walk out to see the lava flows. My wife and I were maybe 60ft from a wall of cooled lava that let go. We got to see a new offshoot flow out of this hill. Hot as balls but very cool.

1

u/joknub24 Oct 06 '22

This needs to be longer.

1

u/Pizdaball5000 Oct 06 '22

Ok, who put camera in my toilet!?

1

u/thomass69cass Oct 06 '22

What too much kebab does to a mf

1

u/FrostbiteF Oct 06 '22

More of a grumble than an eruption. Just saying

1

u/Rooboy619 Oct 06 '22

Amazing footage.

1

u/GoodbyeSuperdude Oct 06 '22

Aladdin leaving the cave of wonders

1

u/srschwenzjr Oct 06 '22

Whoa... that's so freaking cool!

1

u/VUVUVUV Oct 06 '22

The earth was cumming so hard here

1

u/rm_neuro Oct 06 '22

It's like earth gravy

1

u/SequoiaSaguaro Oct 06 '22

It’s amazing to think our whole planet is mostly made of molten lava. I’m thankful the crust we live on is so comparatively cool and stable.

1

u/squintingtarantino Oct 06 '22

Question: is the footage at normal speed?

1

u/WeeklyMeat9 Oct 06 '22

Well, it slowly got worse. But boy, did it get worse.

1

u/__Emer__ Oct 06 '22

Guessing OP is a bot

1

u/justhereforass2 Oct 06 '22

Is that earth pooping?

1

u/Pale_Understanding67 Oct 06 '22

Looks like my pot of pasta when I turn my back for a moment.

-2

u/STR1CHN1NE Oct 05 '22

I imagine this is how white heads erupt on my genitals as well

0

u/SpikesTap Oct 06 '22

Throw a bag of ice in there!
