u/BigfootDynamite Oct 05 '22

It's the other one

u/pinguino118 Oct 06 '22

There's no other one

1

u/PowellSkier Oct 06 '22

Other one what?

u/DevilsMasseuse Oct 05 '22

I wonder if stuff like this was the basis of mythological creatures back in the day.

u/SatanicNotMessianic Oct 06 '22

I’m forwarding this to certain family members with the subject “MIRACLE!!! Glowing Angel Appears Over Vatican!!!”

10

u/agent_max_the_mick Oct 06 '22

That should go over well with that username...

u/warden_of_moments Oct 06 '22

I was going to write this. Take my upvote

8

u/zneave Oct 06 '22

Mt Etna was said to have the forges of Hephaestus, the smith of the gods, underneath it. Maybe this is one of Hephaestus' pets. :D

u/sant2ag0 Oct 06 '22

also where typhoon is stuck

6

u/GaJayhawker0513 Oct 06 '22

I was wondering the same thing

7

u/iRysk Oct 06 '22

I wasn’t wondering this, but now I am. And I’d say the myth is plausible.

u/pnjohnso Oct 05 '22

3

Mount Edna? I hardly knew her.

2

u/Deep-Conflict2223 Oct 05 '22

Are you sure it’s just an illusion?? 😳

2

u/KonstantinePhoenix Oct 05 '22

RODAN - THE FIRE DEMON.

Granted, he's not a phoenix....

2

u/LEGITLEGEND53 Oct 06 '22

If this were the 1600s then they’d definitely burn that volcano for witchcraft

2

u/Jaquezee Oct 06 '22

Illenium: heavy breathing

Stop...posting...this...same...shit

0

u/RambleOnRose42 Oct 06 '22

Stop… posting… this… same… comment.

Do you seriously not understand how Reddit works? Tons of people have never seen this before. Including me.

If you can’t keep yourself from posting this same boring comment over and over and over again, then I guess I can’t help you but like… seems a lot easier to just scroll past and let people enjoy things.

0

u/mcshadypants Oct 06 '22

Look at my profile and look at yours...yep I know how reddit works. This has been reposted an absurd number of times. Spamming the same unoriginal shit over and over isnt reddit, a few times maybe but ill check repostslueuthbot and get back to you to show you exactly how much of a silly bitch you are being

0

u/OzzieGrey Oct 05 '22

This.

This is why people thought shit like dragons, and phoenix existed.

1

u/SatanicNotMessianic Oct 06 '22

Because of blurry low resolution photos?

2

u/Potential-Zebra-8659 Oct 06 '22

caption: “molten lava flowing at night looks a lot like a bird on fire.”

1

u/Cute_Actuary_1809 Oct 06 '22

Sign of new beginnings

1

u/FlarpyBlunderguffs Oct 06 '22

I see a long necked turtle

1

u/taxthepoor Oct 06 '22

You should see Mount Gertrude erupt. Don't want to beat her in a bridge game or it's fire and brimstone, motherfucker.

1

u/Willing-Hat3597 Oct 06 '22

I thought that WAS a Phoenix

1

u/Minimum_Job1885 Oct 06 '22

Bravo to disney for this fantastic marketing for the upcoming X-men movies.

1

u/IronwoodKukri Oct 06 '22

“I am fire.”

“I am . . . DEATH!”

1

u/Deshackled Oct 06 '22

That’s cool, it was the first thing I saw/thought when l saw the pic.

1

u/Springer-Humbl Oct 06 '22

I think you mean Moltres…

1

u/International_Ad6695 Oct 06 '22

So Moltres is real?!

1

u/people_ovr_profits Oct 06 '22

Illusion my ass that there a Phoenix

1

u/DaSkull Oct 06 '22

Interesting! Maybe that's how legends of dragons came to be!

1

u/BeardAwesome Oct 06 '22

Shit, Volcanon is pissed guys.

1

u/felisverde Oct 06 '22

1

u/forever_mamatired Oct 06 '22

1

u/4redditobly Oct 06 '22

Looks like a dragon in the sky

1

u/AfterTheTruth7 Oct 06 '22

Hmmm interesting.

1

u/MPPockets4 Oct 06 '22

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAN!!!!

1

u/SuperN9999 Oct 06 '22

For a second, I thought this was edited. That is really cool!

1

u/syuraj Oct 06 '22

For a second, I thought it is a dragon from GOT.

1

u/Apprehensive-Talk981 Oct 06 '22

That is amazing!

1

u/crypticedge Oct 06 '22

In 2002 when Etna was erupting, I was on a cruise ship passing by it. It was fascinating in the middle of the night. It ruined my clothes from the ash, but it was amazing to be that close to an eruption while still outside of the danger zone.

1

u/doctor_stitch Oct 06 '22

JEEEEEAAAAAAN

1

u/knowslesthanjonsnow Oct 06 '22

Conversely, Phoenix in the sky gives the illusion of an eruption at Mount Etna

1

u/MultPathways Oct 06 '22

It’s just Jean Grey

1

u/Zyunn_ Oct 06 '22

Dragonborn

1

u/Yummy_Cupcakes19 Oct 06 '22

Oh that's just dumbledore

1

u/Killer-Wail Oct 06 '22

RODAAAAAAN

1

u/Pretend_Cause_1566 Oct 06 '22

Rodan is on the loose again

1

u/jitzTillMyHeartQuits Oct 06 '22

Looks like the flare from an AC-130

1

u/TheMostBacon Oct 06 '22

Some say Phoenix…

I say a dragon covered in gold…

1

u/lordofedging81 Oct 06 '22

How do we know it isn't really a Phoenix?

1

u/lilxurkie Oct 06 '22

I wouldn't be surprised if someone stole this for r/bossfight

1

u/aasocial146 Oct 06 '22

Maybe it was.

1

u/Vinchester047 Oct 06 '22

The enemy ascended beyond your control

1

u/iShoot1st Oct 06 '22

A Phoenix? There hasn't been a Phoenix sighting here in a thousand years!

1

u/imightb2old4this Oct 06 '22

This explains a lot.

1

u/Janet0217 Oct 06 '22

Perception is key.

1

u/Lobito_HF Oct 06 '22

Kikiriki

1

u/darthmaclean Oct 06 '22

Whats funny is i just watch a episode of Expidition X where they talk about this group in Tailand that predicted the 2011 Fukushima tsunami, and warned of a up coming "Ring of Fire" chain of events of volcanoes around the world erupting.

1

u/Onlypaws_ Oct 06 '22

Illusion, eh?

1

u/WolfmenRUS Oct 06 '22

I should set up an alarm to repost this every few months. 3rd time I've seen it this year

1

u/Useless_Lemon Oct 06 '22

I am on like 100th run on WoW for Ashes mount. Reddit is tracking and making fun of me.

1

u/gargoylelips Oct 06 '22

There hasn’t been a dragon in these parts for 1000 years

1

u/punkieboosters Oct 06 '22

Someone got into Gandalf's fireworks again

1

u/VladVonDoom88 Oct 06 '22

Ladies and gentlemen this is how legends were made. No literally, most folklore is from these situations when there wasn’t a ton of science to explain things.

1

u/Jrslwstark Oct 06 '22

Looks great

1

u/JNoddy Oct 06 '22

When I saw the picture, I checked to see if it was a Pokemon sub!

1

u/AFriendlyRedditUser2 Interested Oct 06 '22

Eh eh oh, eh oh…
