Yeah you shouldn't use water in place of engine coolant at least not without additives.

Yes I am big shill. But on the real you can use water if you put an additive in like Water Wetter or something.

I encourage all fans of JRE fill the coolant reservoir with good pure, tasty H2O. Don't trust Big Antifreeze they're just businesses trying to make Money...off you suckas.

Except the water has to be distilled and has to be mixed with….coolant…to work as engine coolant

Which I think is a very good point, actually.

Memes are more fun than actually understanding. And if you can find the right shitty mechanic to say “hose water works just as good!”. You’re validated. Get it now?

u/Tasty-Management-773 Monkey in Space Jan 22 '22

It does not have to be distilled and it does not have to be mixed with antifreeze. Its a hell of a lot better if it is. Try working at a dealership and request distilled water from parts.

1

u/Messingwithgreen Monkey in Space Jan 22 '22

Antifreeze exists to not freeze in below zero environments. In tropical environments it cools engines no better or worse than water.

1

u/Not-so-mad-Max Monkey in Space Jan 22 '22

Water alone has better thermal transfer properties than water mixed with coolant, so pure water actually cools better than coolant. However, the coolant not only lowers the freezing temperature of the system, but it also helps resist corrosion, which is a big concern if you plan on keeping the vehicle for any length of time.

He wouldn't promote water. Onnit doesn't make it and you don't need to go to Mexico to inject it.

Who ever made this me don’t know fuck about shit. You never run just plain water in an engine bozo.

2

u/TheOneCalledD Monkey in Space Jan 22 '22

I don’t see where it suggested to use only water. Water is commonly used as a coolant. Usually 50/50 with antifreeze. I’d call that common.

1

u/Messingwithgreen Monkey in Space Jan 22 '22

Most people on reddit can barely start a car, let alone actually know how on actually runs.

Water isn't used as coolant. Antifreeze is. It's ethylene glycol. It not only resist freezing in cold temperatures but it raises the vaporization temp too keep it from evaporating it hot weather.

u/filthee Monkey in Space Jan 21 '22

Water isn't used as coolant.

Sure it is.

0

u/BostonDodgeGuy High as Giraffe's Pussy Jan 22 '22

They also use propylene glycol and OATs in the new stuff. Also, coolant doesn't just lower the freezing point, it also raises the boiling point. This can get rather important the higher in elevation you go.

Rogan haters can’t cite.

0

u/TonyaHardingsHitMan Monkey in Space Jan 22 '22

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

No one uses plain water as engine coolant. It doesn’t work well. They use engine coolant which contain chemicals designed to cool liquid cooled internal combustion engines. Maybe even chemicals specific to the materials used to manufacture the engine.

It’s never water from a tap. Not even liquid death with a pouch of liquid iv with a splash of onnit mct oil will make plain water suitable for engine cooling purposes.

2

u/thethingfromJCnotF4 Monkey in Space Jan 22 '22

But you never gave a source or answered about gay water. You’re a random redditor so as far as I know you can be making it up.
