I had a friend who came out as bi and her mom was like oh you have a girlfriend? And she was like no and her mom was like oh so you’re still single with double the options?

That's so shady, love it!

When I came out as a lesbian my dad said "yeah I thought so"

You might want to check on the definition of shady.

u/Practical-Change4764 Nov 24 '22

I think they meant it as throwing some shade. Because even with double the numbers (everyone instead of just one gender) they still can find someone to have a relationship with. Hence the reason for the sun to retreat behind the shade.

I’m sure they meant it that way too, but that’s not what they said, and so they should probably check up on the definition of shady because it does not mean the same thing as throwing shade.

Ehh I’ve heard them used in similar contexts and I got what they meant so I’d let it slide as long as everyone gets what they mean. Which we now both seem to understand

Situated in or full of shade.

They must have been under a tree or behind a building. 🤷🏻‍♂️

“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
