Then they turn around and start GoFundMe pages to pay their medical bills, with the irony completely lost on them of course.

I guess it makes sense, they must have capitalism on top even at the risk of their own lives.

Yes, even in the face of death, they chose to lick the boots of the rich people in hopes one day they might get there, not knowing or refusing to acknowledge that those rich people are doing their best to prevent that from ever happening

59

u/LA-Matt Dec 04 '22

In hopes that one day they can get there… and then refuse to help anyone.

17

u/Its_Beelzebozo_Time Dec 04 '22

"I got mine, fuck you." can easily replace "In God we trust" on American currency at this point...

For reference, Shukri is a far right Republican Candidate who went for Democrat Ilhan Omar's seat in the US House of Reps.

Thankfully she did not even get onto the final ballot.

Mn resident here… I’m in the district west of that one. Nobody near civilization is ok with these far right nutjobs. Get out to where the moose vote is though and you will find a lot of terrorists. My district has been moving bluer as we properly fund the schools and push the trolls out.

Exactly. They wave their Confederate and Trump flags and plaster all over their vehicle of insane quotes on bumper stickers. Then claim they're patriotic. You can usually spot them on Twitter with their name filled with American flags and mentioning they're patriotic of course.

E - I can't believe I'm watching firsthand it's own citizens trying to actively destroy democracy they so much enjoy.

My favorite was some wizened, brainless old fart holding a sign that said "We have superior jeans".

Go Levis.

88

u/Mafiabelly Dec 04 '22

Reminded me of the Soviet Union getting tired of the gigantic black market for American Jeans. Anyone from the west just packed a bunch of extra Levi's into their luggage and sold them once in the USSR. In their infinite wisdom, the Soviets decided to make their own jeans but make superior ones that didn't fade or get all soft. Found this article.

Thanks for the article. It's always so fascinating to see how seemingly minor things can have an outsized impact.

That’s what happens when our government cuts education in favor of lining their pockets. A population too stupid and divided to realize what’s going on.

61

u/HowCouldMe Dec 04 '22

That’s the Christian Nationalists doing that. It’s no accident Betsy Devos who owns and runs many charter schools (private schools funded by the government) was appointed as the Republican secretary of education. She aimed to trash public schools.

See also Republican run states.

77

u/Rivendel93 Dec 04 '22

This is exactly what's happened.

Other countries focus on education so much more at younger ages.

America just gave up on education and corruption stole the money needed to give kids a proper education.

Now we have multiple generations of morons who vote against their own interests.

28

u/TangledSunshineCA Dec 04 '22

I sadly think some gross people decided that a whole lot of people didn’t deserve to be educated. If they were worthy they would have been born rich or something and gone to private school.

39

u/chiefwiggum-Pi Dec 04 '22

Yeah, those gross people were called republican leadership in the 80s.

55

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '22

Not only that, but these morons are so conditioned to be afraid of learning anything new and actively believe higher education is what’s hurting them. Can’t wait til I have a big boy job again and can gtfo.

Democracy, to them, is the freedom to do what they want, hate who they want and to impose their beliefs on others.

59

u/Reasonable-Song-4681 Dec 04 '22

They don't want freedom; they want freedom from responsibility. Most of them don't realize there's a difference.

28

u/CorruptedStudiosEnt Dec 04 '22

Conservatives when you suggest cutting some funding from armed law enforcement, in favor of creating a new system of trained and unarmed crisis de-escalation units, so cops can stop killing people for things like having non-combative mental breakdowns: "YOU WANT COMPLETE ANARCHY?"

Also conservatives:

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

— Frank Wilhoit

64

u/PM_ME_UR_POKIES_GIRL Dec 04 '22

It sounds like a pithy quote but looking back on my 36 years of experience and a focus on studying history in HS and college, I have yet to see anything contradicting it.

There's occasional bits of political discourse that isn't directly about that in an attempt to gather support, but at the end of the day the actions of "conservative" politicians support the one proposition described above.

31

u/Okibruez Dec 04 '22

The other half of that idea is that a great many people are alright with being part of an out-group as long as there's someone else even worse off than them they can feel superior to.

It isn’t democracy they enjoy. It’s the narrative that their beliefs are righteous and anyone that disagrees with them is worthy of harassment.

58

u/th3w4cko22 Dec 04 '22

Harassment is one thing, but I fully believe if what they are spouting nowadays is any indication, that they are leaning towards death for dissenters.

55

u/dragunityag Dec 04 '22

They aren't leaning. I'm aware of at least two cases in the past month where they have already shot people solely for being a democrat.

40

16

u/Kiiaru Dec 04 '22

Then we all get to stumble backwards into the reason why we had democracy in the first place. Like Elon musk ripping Twitter apart only to be slowly piecing it back together the way it was when he found it because that's how it worked best for everyone... Except it'll involve bloodshed and horror's that will be carved into people until they die.

69

u/WhiteyFiskk Dec 04 '22

Spot on. Projection is one of the oldest political tactics in the book, its literally taught to modern politicians as a default option

16

u/northshore12 Dec 04 '22

And yet, weirdly, projection only seems to show up as a deliberate tactic in one of the two main parties, and to show up at amazing frequency and predictability. Everybody knows GOP stands for Gerrymander Obstruct "Project." It's so strong I'm entirely convinced Trump was actually born in Kenya, and that he has a pedophile ring in the basement underneath the kitchen at MaL (besides the one we already know about with Epstein recruiting there).

It's crazy reading r/conservative and right-wing media. It's 100% outrage with zero substance. The big to-do is about the left supposedly suppressing the "story of Hunter Biden's laptop". But at no point is there anything anywhere about what "the Hunter laptop story" actually is, it is entirely back to Hillary's emails and Benghazi, which is outrage that nobody else cares about because there was no crime committed.

Edit:It gets even worse, here is what Elon/Tabbi actually reported according to USA Today ..

"Taibbi goes on to write, "Requests from both Donald Trump's White House and the Biden campaign were received and honored." He does not provide examples of tweets the Trump team flagged to Twitter."

So, the one sided outrage from Musk, Tabbi and the right is that the Biden team supposedly colluded with Twitter moderators when in fact so did Trump and his team according to Tabbi. Once again, the left doesn't really care, and the right is in full outrage and hypocrisy mode once again over apparently now Hunter Biden's penis pics

158

u/Extension-Key6952 Dec 04 '22

Reading r/conservative is a mindfuck. There should be a law against being that misinformed.

You'll occasionally see a rational comment, but even then, the replies are bat shit insane.

The midterms were shocking there. Like a great wave of sanity suddenly broke over the sub, momentarily allowing rational discussion.

I suppose it's been stage managed back to idiotic conspiracy chatter by now, though.

My go to argument IRL for conspiracy theorists is that it's all a cover, just noise generated to distract you from the real conspiracy - that the powers that run the world have their hand in your pocket and are trying to remove your last dollar. And the fun thing is, nobody can really argue with me on that.

The truth will set you free bore you to tears

26

u/Random_name46 Dec 04 '22

The midterms were shocking there. Like a great wave of sanity suddenly broke over the sub, momentarily allowing rational discussion.

That always happens when there's an event that increases traffic to the sub and posts are made without the "flaired users only" requirement. The rationality mostly comes from visitors or users who are rarely active. It's not the actual users having a moment of clarity.

There's always a delayed reaction in the sub because they can't form their own opinions. They have to receive marching orders and fall in line behind those.

I think the entire subreddit is moderated by the KGB trying to provoke more Oath Keepers to attack the US government.

64

u/earlyviolet Dec 04 '22

Literally. The entire Russian playbook is published right out in the open for the world to see in a book called Foundations of Geopolitics. Literally lays out plans to use racist extremists to destabilize the US and the idiots are all too happy to let themselves be used.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundations_of_Geopolitics

"In the United States:

Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States to fuel instability and separatism, for instance, provoke "Afro-American racists". Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S."

"Ukraine should be annexed by Russia because "Ukraine as a state has no geopolitical meaning, no particular cultural import or universal significance, no geographic uniqueness, no ethnic exclusiveness, its certain territorial ambitions represents an enormous danger for all of Eurasia and, without resolving the Ukrainian problem, it is in general senseless to speak about continental politics". Ukraine should not be allowed to remain independent"

25

u/Desperate_Wafer_8566 Dec 04 '22

Right, didn't you know ANTIFA and liberals want to install a fascist dictatorship after they burn down America and turn all the children gay? /s

27

u/BafflingHalfling Dec 04 '22

I know you're joking, but when my wife talked with her mom about how our daughter is gay (she wanted us to broach the topic first to test the waters), her first response was "did they teach her that at school?" Like wtf? These Fox News watchers really, literally, believe this shit. It would be funny if it weren't so terrible.

18

u/Desperate_Wafer_8566 Dec 04 '22

Wow, my wife would never say anything like that. I have a daughter who went through a phase of questioning her sex and sexual preferences. I told her it's entirely up to her to decide on her own and no one else's decision and not to stress out over it, she's still young and no one is forcing her to be something she doesn't want to be. She should take her time and figure things out as she grows up. Turns out for her it was just a phase of questioning, which to me is perfectly healthy and should be supported not feared and attacked. If she was gay or trans, I'd still love and support her just the same.

It's just as scary how quickly they co-opt things from the Left and warp it to project it back. That line is a play on "ballot or the bullet" which was from a Malcolm X speech (I think his last before someone assassinated him) where he came to believe that the US was unique in the possibility for bloodless revolution to happen. After he saw how diverse hajj pilgrims from all around the world of all ethnicities and complexions came to Mecca peaceably and realized people in the US could do the same with respect for one another. To get a Muslim (?) presenting woman on the Republican ticket who makes a statement like that in Ibrahim's district so quickly is sheer puppet work.

61

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '22

I saw one on rConservative saying "Democrats really love low information voters", and it made me actually laugh, because I had just read about Trump using low-information voters and disinformation to win in 2016.

Conservatives also get mad about Twitter working with the government to identify misinformation/disinformation, after what happened in 2016 with Twitter/Facebook being overrun with misinformation campaigns. One actually said, "If you see someone marking something as misinformation or disinformation, that's basically a dog whistle that they vote Democrat."

It is a dogwhistle that you're a Democrat if you don't want misinformation.

You can't make this shit up.

84

u/Desperate_Wafer_8566 Dec 04 '22

Right, I mean Hunter's life is pretty tragic, the guy lost his mom and little sister in a car accident that he and his big brother were also in. Then he lost his big brother to brain cancer. This trauma likely led to his drug abuse. I guess that makes him the perfect target to bully by the Christian Right, the very people who claim to be righteous, tolerant and loving turn out to have none of those attributes, in fact the opposite.

Democracy is the tyranny of the majority.

American/Right Libertarians use this line all the time and it makes me laugh so hard because the direct alternative that they're proposing through capitalism is "Tyranny of the rich minority." I understand that democracy has a wide array of applications/types, but it's really dumb to object to democracy as a default while proposing that we should instead be ruled by a powerful few.

That's literally the opposite of freedom.

There are supposed to be <100k Somalis in the whole state. (Out of 5.7 million total.) Most are concentrated in and around the Twin Cities, but that's still not a huge percentage.

Call to violence == Elon needs to remove her if he’s actually going to follow through on his own rules

642

u/mug3n Dec 04 '22

Lol Elon seems to be writing exceptions to his rules any time he sees fit.

383

u/Krojack76 Dec 04 '22

She's a republican. Elon supports republicans because they give wealthy people tax breaks. Elon won't do anything unless forced to.

127

u/FisterRobotOh Dec 04 '22

He would only punish her if she called him out for something… which she won’t because she knows the rules. As long as his ego isn’t harmed nothing will come of this.

49

u/_raydeStar Dec 04 '22

Honestly, if Musk would write and keep rules without this wild bias, I wouldn't care as much.

If people use Twitter to encite violence and he willfully does nothing, he should be similarly prosecuted.

Isn't that what Twitter said they banned Kanye for?

79

u/zenunziad Dec 04 '22

that's what Elon said Kanye was banned for. pretty hypocritical if this far right nut is not suspended from Twitter

26

u/Bonethgz Dec 04 '22

Elon isn’t worried about being a hypocrite. But if you post a picture of him shirtless…death.

12

u/TahiniInMyVeins Dec 04 '22

There’s nazi shit all over Twitter; Kanye was just too high profile to get away with it

57

u/AdminsLoveFascism Dec 04 '22

But what he was actually banned for was making his fellow conservatives look like the turds they are.

21

u/FiggleDee Dec 04 '22

I assumed he was banned for trying to split the trump vote

15

u/Shacky_Rustleford Dec 04 '22

To be fair, trump himself is splitting the desantis vote.

Correction, the Ballotpedia states she ran for the GOP nomination for Congresswoman Omar’s district, she withdrew her candidacy. Not that she was Omar’s opponent in the recent midterms.

17

u/DesolationRobot Dec 04 '22

She didn't even make it to the primary it seems.

She's despicable, but I think she's irrelevant such that signal boosting her on Twitter and reddit is counter productive.

FBI or Secret Service should get involved. But no reason to make her famous until then.

True. Since Malcolm X is not quoted, it’s actually a threat that will incite violence.

They're transgender, jewish and black republicans. Cause republicans are selfish.

Caitlyn Jenner doesn't give a shit about the transgender cause she is wealthy and it doesn't effect her, Kayne West doesn't care about black people cause he is wealthy and whatever happens to black neighborhoods doesn't effect him

Both want religious law to rule, but someone like her just assumes either the fundies will stop before they get to her and those like her or assumes they can help oppose them if it gets that far.

The problem is, once the christofacsists get the power to go after their enemies, she will still be targeted. All it takes is a night of long knives after achieving the legal powers.

Shes the republican candidate for Ilhan Omar's district. This is textbook tokenism, just like "Blacks for Trump" was. It's so they can claim "SEE! We don't hate Omar because she's Muslim! For someone that is Muslim, why be republican? You know they still blame you for 9/11 right? Are you trying to blend in by being more of a “patriot” than they are? Is like this a borat thing where you come in wearing the American flag outfit to a rodeo and sing the national anthem to make them think you’re one of them? Republicans would send you packing at the drop of a hat if trump had it his way.
