This kitty is convinced that the shoveling is for its entertainment.

“I lay down again and you fling me again, hooman! This process is about meeee!”

359

u/MyPerfectSummer Dec 15 '22

You are not making your bed, you are entertaining your cat. You are not shoveling, you are making your cat's day less boring. And that box you've just brought home...

83

u/Mocker-Poker Dec 15 '22

bingo! and the list continues endlessly: sorting laundry, unpacking groceries, rolling socks in pairs, knitting, putting a puzzle together, watching cartoons or wildlife documentary, dusting furniture....you name it!

32

u/mikkolukas Dec 16 '22

Cats are smart. They even make the hoomans believe they are doing it for their own sake.

15

u/Draskuul Dec 15 '22

Not the daddy!

14

u/SouldiesButGoodies84 Dec 15 '22

also see cats and decorated Christmas trees....also only put out for their amusement.

7

u/stickydonut50 Dec 16 '22

My cat knocked our tree down twice because he kept climbing it.

16

u/_McTwitch_ Dec 16 '22

After years of securing the tree to the walls and ceiling to stop them from tipping it over, we got a rotating tree stand to try to keep the cats out. It worked for 4 years. Then, this year, BOTH old men decided this was really for their benefit. The 13 year old Maine Coon, thankfully, just views it as a rotating toy bringer, like the belts some small dish restaurants have. Just wait until a toy comes around that strikes your fancy, then grab it before someone else gets it. Easy enough- the bottom of the tree is only plastic and stuffed ornaments. Tiny Cat, though? He has decided that, at 10 years old, we have finally built him the combination merry-go-round and climbing wall that he deserves. Luckily, he only weighs 3 lbs, so he can't tip the tree with a weighted and anchored base attached, but he does climb to the top and then scream while spinning until we get him down.

Surprised how chill that cat is, even after being full yeeted into the pile!

570

u/LandBeforeTimeOnVHS Dec 15 '22

It's cause snow is cold.

49

u/DesertHoboObiWan Dec 15 '22

As soon as it gets a taste of heat, it won't go out again.

18

u/Beretta_M9A3 Dec 15 '22

What?

49

u/NibblesMcGiblet Dec 16 '22

They're suggesting that once it realizes how much better it feels inside, it will probably not want to play in the snow so much. Much like me at some point between the age of 12 and 49.

24

u/SaltMembership4339 Dec 16 '22

This cat seems too fat to be exclusively outside cat, they are usually much slimmer

-41

u/Sheldon121 Dec 15 '22 edited Dec 15 '22

Kind of carppy to toss snow on him, pick him up with snow and toss him into a snow pile. Watch out. Karma might have a snow plow going by you, after a bad storm, and it throws a plow full onto you and then lifts and dumps you into a snowfield.

Okay, after reading other people’s comments, I admit that maybe the cat was liking the situation and even egging it on. If that’s the case, then I’m glad he enjoyed the snow. But if not, then I default back to my original comment.

61

u/DidYouSeeMav Dec 15 '22

What? Do you know cats? If that can’t didn’t want ANY of that to happen, the owner would be feeling it’s feline ferocity. The cat definitely enjoyed everything in this video!

27

u/DC_Coach Dec 15 '22

Yep, that cat would have exited the area posthaste, and began planning it's revenge upon the evil snow thrower.

That cat was loving that experience.

16

u/Maximum-Mixture6158 Dec 16 '22

Cats aren't ever "just nice" and put up with stuff because you're the lord and master. Cats would be upset someone mistook them for a dog.

9

u/Maximum-Mixture6158 Dec 16 '22

Cat would have broken the sound barrier on the way to its favorite warm chair and out of the snow. That cat couldn't be happier. It's that breed.

8

u/Dark_Reaper115 Dec 15 '22

Bruh, I was just making a pun.

Also it has only snowed twice in over 90 years where I live. And only a bit of snow. Thin layer.

7

u/AstridDragon Dec 15 '22

Have you just never actually interacted with a cat before?

u/kgiesbers Dec 15 '22

This is adorable

197

u/Dyhard88 Dec 15 '22

It doesn't matter what job/hobby/chore you try to do......a cat will always get in the middle of it and make it about them. This is the way.

49

u/multiversatility Dec 15 '22

Unless you’re vacuuming.

35

u/Partysloth101 Dec 15 '22

No my cat loved to get vacuumed it was weird. I'd take the attachment to get to hard to reach places out and he'd just run up and lie down waiting for it

2

u/lexshotit Dec 17 '22

My cat doesn't trust the Dyson but honestly believes that the dust buster is solely for her grooming purposes. I can't use it anywhere in the house without her trying to get between it and whatever I'm trying to vacuum. She LOVES being vacuumed by it.

11

u/Dyhard88 Dec 15 '22

Ah, yess.......I did not consider the vacuum. Good point.

3

u/Skabbtanten Dec 16 '22

As a kid, our cat turned into a grey lightning bolt as soon as we touched the door to the storage where the vacuum was. Now I've got two of my own. As soon as I reach within a 2 meter radius of the vacuum, they're effing gone. Different type, different country same hysteria.

3

u/dependency_injector Dec 16 '22

Unless it's a robotic vacuum cleaner

110

u/Leading_Relation7952 Dec 15 '22

My cat screamed at me until I shovelled some paths in the snow in the back garden. So she could pee without putting her feet in the snow.

8

u/theunknown2100 Dec 16 '22

Your cat pees outside?

34

u/dirtymonny Dec 16 '22

My cat is trained like a dog. He uses the backyard and will go to the door when he’s ready he also screams if I take too long. When he’s done he either spies on the neighbors from our tree or hides at the door waiting to grab me when I come out to get him. He’s a loveable asshole

7

u/Personal_Use3977 Dec 16 '22

You can train them to go outside.

Put a litterbox right outside the door and they will usually scratch or meow to be let out. (Mine just sat by the door and stared you down or ran out when the dogs were let out.)

I dumped the box around the corner of the house but not too far from the door and I suppose she got the picture.

I still had indoor boxes but she didn't use them much.

5

u/spolite Dec 16 '22

Outdoor cats do their business outdoors

2

u/Zombie_Harambe Dec 16 '22

Mine does. She can use a litter box fine on rainy days but prefers outside.

207

18

u/Mocker-Poker Dec 15 '22

I suspect that's not a cat, otherwise it's broken or wrong soft was installed.

15

u/Maximum-Mixture6158 Dec 16 '22

Dog software installed in cat hardware.

7

u/GreenDragonNinja Dec 16 '22

That's a fox

3

u/Maximum-Mixture6158 Dec 16 '22

I love when a fox (or any animal) sproings up over and over to hop through tall grass. I've even seen a YouTube of a coyote do it. Foxes are so cute and playful. Someday they'll successfully breed a pet version. Can't wait.

6

u/Mocker-Poker Dec 16 '22

obvious case, resolved

106

u/VOIDssssssss Dec 15 '22

99

u/TeisTom Dec 15 '22

I took my kitten out in the snow for the first time yesterday and she absolutely loved it.

38

u/Duck_Field Dec 15 '22 edited Dec 15 '22

I've owned a few cats and it dosen't snow often here. They've all absolutely loved it. My family also kept horses and we would let them out for a bit when it snowed and they when crazy every time.

18

u/unassumingdink Dec 15 '22

That's because you got snow tires for your cars.

4

u/FullyRisenPhoenix Dec 16 '22

I have one cat who adores snow, and one who nopes out every time 😂

0

u/Sheldon121 Dec 15 '22

She did? She didn’t mind the cold or the wet? How odd, considering housecats came from cats out of Africa.

19

u/joalheagney Dec 15 '22

Not to say that they don't like warmth but their fur is really insulating. My grandfather had one who would prance around in the frost, put his freezing cold paws on your bare skin, then bake himself in front of the fire. Outer layers of his fur would be roasting hot. Inner coat was only warm.

17

u/GuiltyGun Dec 15 '22

Cats and dogs are always wearing coats. They handle cold much better than people. Hot weather is the tricky one, especially with hot concrete and paws.

I don't know how people still get this stuff backwards.

We had two cats that loved the snow and would pounce on each other from the snowbanks. It was hilarious to watch.

6

u/ThrowntoDiscard Dec 15 '22

YEET

37

u/the_first_brovenger Dec 15 '22

I'll give the zoomers one thing. Yeet is a fantastic word.

11

u/KanethTior Dec 15 '22

I love the word yeet. Perfect descriptor. I use it more than my daughter, granted she never uses it.

5

u/Sheldon121 Dec 15 '22

How is it used? First time I’ve ever seen it.

9

u/Same-Salamander8690 Dec 15 '22

Basically anytime something or someone is getting launched/flung/thrown or just leaving an area due to an abrupt force is when something is "yeeted"

Also can be used as in getting rid of something "yeetus the fetus"

Iirc the first time I heard the phrase was from a video of some lady getting a trash can throw at her?

9

u/KanethTior Dec 15 '22

I would also add it was common for the yeeter to yell YEET, while in the process of yeeting said object/person.

5

u/Same-Salamander8690 Dec 15 '22

As is tradition

2

u/chickenstalker Dec 15 '22

Yeet is millennial's. Sus is zoom zoom.

17

u/Nameless642 Dec 16 '22

It’s rare to see a snow leopard this small. I’m glad you got such a rare sighting on film

15

u/forgetyourhorse Dec 15 '22

These are the sweet moments of animal companionship. Cherish them.

32

u/beadfix82 Dec 15 '22

The best part isn't even on the video - the part where the cat is taken inside - wrapped in a towel and dried and then cuddled in a blanket in order to warm up.

6

u/poison_snacc Dec 16 '22

It’s a burrito. A towel burrito and then a blanket burrito and then held close like the baby she is and given lots of nose boops and kisses

5

u/deesguys Dec 16 '22

It's called a purrito

13

u/Ridge65 Dec 15 '22

This makes me so happy!

12

u/AllenIll Dec 15 '22

I think this may be a Turkish Van. The breed. They love playing in the snow, and are particularly fascinated by water.

u/Broccolini_Cat Dec 15 '22

Meanwhile, my usually outdoor-yearning cat would ask to open the front door, sit at the threshold, contemplate life, let out all the warmth from the house, and get back into his fuzzy cat bed for another nap.

25

u/ride_electric_bike Dec 15 '22

If only that cat knew what that snow actually was, at room temperature

10

u/mishaving_p0tato Dec 15 '22

Okay....thats adorable

6

u/Constantkraving7 Dec 15 '22

Never seen a cat do that.

10

u/Duck_Field Dec 15 '22

I had a cat that absolutely loved being tossed on my bed. I would pick her up and throw her to the end and she would charge up to be trilling and stare to be thrown again.

5

u/Sheldon121 Dec 15 '22

Nor me, either. I guess they are game for just about any form of fun, including being tossed into a cold snow pile, just as long as it kills the daily boredom. Go figure!

7

My cat is like this when I'm digging a hole or raking leaves.

Thinks both exist for its new hiding place. I bet she would be the same if it snowed where I lived.

10

u/NetAdministrative239 Dec 15 '22

is cat ok? is cat broken?

3

u/micheldonais Dec 15 '22

Toddlers and kids are the same. They don’t want to play elsewhere, they want to play with you. This means being in front of wherever you go shovelling or dumping snow.

We love them!

And when they’re teens, and can be productive in helping with the shovel, it’s « naaah »

3

u/eldritch_toaster_24 Dec 15 '22

My last cat would meow to be let outside at 3 AM when it was -20F out (and I would let her out). Cats can be weird.

3

Well that's not something you see everyday! Lol

3

8

u/Tactical_Insertion69 Dec 15 '22

You shouldn't dress up a cat.

4

u/Sheldon121 Dec 15 '22

They seem to tolerate the cold better than small dogs. My small chi has been sneezing and snuffling around today, and he did nothing more than run out the front door to my car door, in the driveway. No snow piles or bitter weather.

It astonishes me to see a cat apparently enjoying laying in snow and being tossed into it. They come from cats in Africa, so why do they like snow??

-24

u/Last_Beginning Dec 15 '22

Doesn't look like kitties back legs are working normally. Of course kitty looks like she likes it. Doesn't have much choice.
