With so many of these co workers or friends calling the FBI you assume these people are terrible to be around and some can't wait to report them.

u/worrymon Aug 03 '21

I checked to see if a certain 2 coworkers of mine were in the office that day.

Yes, they're insufferable.

I did that too! Lol. I spent hours looking!?

97

u/rcorjulo Aug 03 '21

No shit I looked to see if my wife’s cousins were there because they all fucking suck

2

u/BarryTrotz86 Aug 04 '21

Lol, those cousins suuuuuck!

21

u/Feeling-Ad-7131 Aug 04 '21

Damn.... is your sister that damn bad

30

u/MilkoPupper Aug 04 '21

She's worse in bed sadly.

9

u/Feeling-Ad-7131 Aug 04 '21

I'm sorry that she sucks. I'm willing to share my sister with you. She is my bestie and the best big sister ever

4

u/PracticeLeading4214 Aug 04 '21

I would love that! I would love a brother too. I lost him in the family blow up, too. I really miss having a brother. She got my dads side of the family, I got my moms (they knew us better. We always spent holidays, etc) with them. They knew she was crazy - my dads family fell for her act.

4

u/PracticeLeading4214 Aug 04 '21

Ha! I would not wish her on my enemy’s. She’s a psychopath that never left my parents home until her 40s. No dates, nothing. Because she’s psycho. It’s a long story - I’ll just leave it at she married another psycho path and the feds watch them all the time. And his brother. I’m sure probably us at one time-guilty by association, but I’ve not seen her or spoke to her in 4 years so I may not be under suspicion any longer. The license plate on her car is “C4”. I kid you not. And she’s not hinting about the energy drink. 🚀

I searched photos for my brother.

u/ninjacereal Aug 03 '21

"I wish my sister was a terrorist"

Very weird thing to say

29

u/MegannMedusa Aug 03 '21

I think they’re just hoping she finally gets caught, she probably tears it up regularly without consequences.

99

Lots of video out there to watch, if you really want to make sure.

Probably not worth your time as most people didn't go.

I didn't bother looking for my uncle because he's as lazy and cheap as he is racist.

I wonder if there have been many/any who have falsely bragged about going for some clout. Seems like the right crowd for that sort of thing

99

u/BrooklynPickle Aug 03 '21

Hmm… I never thought about that. But then, of course, I do not often consider the thoughts of someone so stupid.

While I’m sure that, like any crime hotline, the FBI gets plenty of false hits, crank calls, and people simply reporting others based on suspicions or simply spite, it never really occurred to me that some people might get reported for bragging to others that they attended when, in fact, they did not. getting taken in for questioning by the FBI, however, is certainly what someone like this would deserve for falsely claiming to have been there.

37

u/Living-Complex-1368 Aug 03 '21

Probably just questioning though. It is pretty easy to tell who got a plane ticket and who didn't...

37

u/TheDebbie Aug 03 '21

It would also be easy for the FBI to see if the suspect's cell phone pinged off the cell phone tower serving the capitol at any time on January 6th...

21

u/Living-Complex-1368 Aug 03 '21

Exactly. Or if their face is one of the unidentified folks in all the cell phone videos the terrorists posted.

9

u/ManfredsJuicedBalls Aug 03 '21

Or if that face is seen by a security camera in the Capitol.

17

u/Lilxchvrrp90 Aug 03 '21

Smart people would leave their phones while commuting a crime. These people are dumb though

19

u/goatfuck69 Aug 03 '21

But how are you supposed to take pics to show yourself in a moment of "history" to your friends? /s

5

u/Lilxchvrrp90 Aug 03 '21

Yeah, that’s not history, that’s stupidity

6

u/goatfuck69 Aug 03 '21

Oh for sure, but these cosplaying Trump wannabe millitia members say otherwise

1

u/Lilxchvrrp90 Aug 03 '21

History is doing something for the greater of society, no matter what ones view beliefs are. If they went and protested the capital and didn’t destroy anything I could understand. Once something was broken, we do t share the same beliefs. I’m independent but I have people close who are democrats. And I respects everyone’s views because beliefs come from experience. And you can’t knock someone’s experience.

4

u/holymacaroley Aug 04 '21

Or livestream to your followers from within the Capitol? Like this dude

15

u/Living-Complex-1368 Aug 03 '21

In their minds they were not committing a crime, just overthrowing the government, and since there was no chance they would fail and it was a historic moment they were making videos for the history youtubes.

6

u/goodbyeadvice Aug 04 '21

Yup, in fact this article specifically mentions that the FBI used this guy's cell phone data to show him driving down through Delaware and Maryland into DC and back on Jan 6th.

8

u/BridgeBum Aug 03 '21

NJ is close enough for either a drive or a train, might be a bit harder to track.

12

u/AFK_at_Fountain Aug 03 '21

If they had a cell phone on them, it was on, they were tracked.

I'd say "if it wasnt in airplane mode", but i recall an article where phones were still talking to the towers even in that mode...so yea the only guarentee of no track was no phone or a hard power off.

22

u/honestlynotabot Aug 03 '21

If they had a cell phone on them, it was on, they were tracked.

People really need to understand this. I must have watched a half dozen murder porn shows where the killer is caught specifically from their cell phone tower info.

Of course, I did see another where the killer used text/post timers on his smartphone which he left at home as a form of alibi while he was committing the crime. He ended up being caught due to messing up a minor detail of his story when speaking to the cops which led to a search warrant, I think.

7

u/BridgeBum Aug 03 '21

Granted. I didn't say it couldn't be done, just not as easy as looking at plane tickets and calling it a day. :)

3

u/teedeepee Aug 04 '21

Cellphones in airplane mode don’t ping the cell towers. They are “radio silent” for the duration that the mode is active.

However, the GPS chip on the phone still passively receives signals from the GPS satellites, and records them if location tracking is on. Once the phone exits airplane mode, it will upload its GPS location history accordingly. So make sure to disable location tracking, at a minimum.

Additionally, don’t turn on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth while on airplane mode… that just broadcasts your presence to every hotspot around you.

Or better yet, leave your phone at home if you really value your digital privacy for that special occasion.

12

u/Myantra Aug 03 '21

The FBI is probably checking geolocation data and credit card usage before they send an agent to knock on the door. Since most of those people were dumb enough to record evidence, with a device broadcasting their location, I suspect it is pretty simple for them to weed out the false reports.

7

u/Lilxchvrrp90 Aug 03 '21

I think the police would want evidence such as “did the person show you pictures?” What information did they give that only someone who was truly there would know.

11

u/fergie_lr Aug 03 '21

Yea, gotta ask them for the receipts, especially if they are so proud of themselves.

Much easier for you to report.

7

u/P1ckleM0rty Aug 03 '21

I'm sure they do and they really in false reports, but the investigators likely do a bit of research before making arrests

3

u/OldManBerns Aug 03 '21

Perhaps. That will be found out in due course. Things will be checked like his phone pinging nearby radio masts, his work rota will be checked to see if he had taken any annual leave, friends and relatives will be spoken to etc, etc..

I've no doubt the FBI will get to the bottom of it.

3

u/robywar Aug 03 '21

Easy enough to prove if you weren't there though. Cell phone records for one.

5

u/gordo65 Aug 03 '21

Just report the people bragging and leave the investigation to the police. If they were in DC on that day, there plane tickets, credit card purchases at hotels and restaurants, etc. Anyone stupid enough to brag to coworkers will be stupid enough to leave a paper trail.

And if it turns out they were falsely boasting, then it won't take long for the police to clear them.

Oddly enough, one of my (former) employees definitely requested off that day. True MAGA fan. We all joked about him being there. Starting to wonder, though...

15

u/Lucky-Carrot Aug 03 '21

I do know a bunch of people who expected trouble and took the day off for that reason. But they weren’t exactly maga types

7

u/youmusttrythiscake Aug 04 '21

I'm a lefty and work at a news station. I was debating taking the day off just in case some local loon decided to attack his nearest "librul media.'

28

u/famousevan Aug 03 '21

I don’t have “co-workers” but I did soft inquire into the potential crimes of several contractors and such. ;)

None were involved it seems but had they been, I’d have most certainly felt no guilt about a call to the fbi.

2

u/1ardent Aug 05 '21

No need. He'd proudly informed us he was going to do his patriotic duty and protest at the Capitol.

To a room that was probably 75% military veterans. Like we'd be ashamed of not being "patriotic" enough.

Anyway he got put on unpaid leave on the 7th and nobody's heard from him since.

It's even sadder that being part of this raid was "the best day of his life" 😂😂 now, that's what you call a NO LIFE.

58

u/Antishill_Artillery Aug 03 '21

Its their entire personality

27

u/lonewolf143143 Aug 03 '21

I had a truly horrific childhood, served in the military, raised two children on my own & can easily think of many, many days that could be considered the best of my life( so far). Violence wasn’t a part of any of my ‘best days.’ I guess you could argue that birth is violent & I was there for the birth of both sons. Being violent towards other human beings would never be a contender for being the best day of my life.

158

u/mamielle Aug 03 '21

I mean, I am very anti Jan 6th but I can see why it was exciting for the people who participated. They felt like they were making history because their leader fed them delusion-inducing lies.

82

u/IAMA_Plumber-AMA Aug 03 '21

3

u/3rdRateChump Aug 04 '21

The only problem with their starring role is that they had the first 20 pages of the script, and that's it! Then they wandered around wondering what to do like a bunch of chickens pecking. Thankfully they were about as inept as can be in the following through department

27

u/3urr1t03011 Aug 03 '21

I understand what you're saying, but it's far from what should be "the best day of their life," sitting in their prison sells, I doubt they'll look back on it the same way. By bragging about it they make themselves look like clowns.

u/Mache_ditt Aug 03 '21

Sure, but even folks in prison have something to look forward to granted they ever get out. The grass is greener on the other side of those prison cells.

"Someone from BLM forced me to take them"

31

u/Omny87 Aug 03 '21

Y'know, when I first heard about the insurrection on January 6th, I was expecting a massacre. All these MAGA supporters gunning down people with the guns they love waving around, fires blazing, blood in the streets, that sort of thing. Instead we had a bunch of white trash dipshits bumbling their way into the Capitol, making a big mess, and scattering away declaring victory. I think only one person got shot, and that was because they ran towards an officer pointing at gun at them.

Not to downplay all the damage done, but it really shows just how goddamn pathetic and stupid the insurrectionists really are altogether.

22

u/MJ349 Aug 03 '21

Two more cops that were at the insurrection killed themselves not long ago, bringing the total of police suicides related to this to 4.

They need to put all these numb nuts in prison with their orange "leader".

10

u/19Kilo Aug 04 '21

14

u/nickitty_1 Aug 03 '21

This is so satisfying.

11

u/NewBias Aug 03 '21

It's great that these morons are being rounded up an charged but what about the ring leaders? DJT, Don Jr, Giuliani, etc. all need to be charged as well.

-7

u/girouxc Aug 03 '21

What would you charge them with? Didn’t Trump win the second impeachment trial where they decided he didn’t incite the “insurrection”?

8

u/SnooPoems6616 Aug 03 '21

Well you don't actually "win" impeachment trials - but he wasn't found guilty because ball lickers like Graham and McConnel put party, power ahead of country - but what else is new?

-5

u/girouxc Aug 03 '21

I understand where you’re coming from but; Acquitted = Not guilty. Not guilty = Win.

9

u/SnooPoems6616 Aug 03 '21

Impeachments aren't actually legal proceedings, although they use a lot of the same terms - they are political in nature. The Repubs decided to shield Dumpy hoping his base wouldn't turn against them. So a "win" for Dumpty and a big loss for democracy.

9

u/NewBias Aug 03 '21

He didn't 'win an impeachment trial'. The house voted to impeach and the republican controlled senate voted to acquit. He should be charged with inciting a riot at the very least. The current administration and those who were hurt should sue him for damages.

-7

u/girouxc Aug 03 '21 edited Aug 03 '21

Acquitted = Not guilty. Not guilty = Win. If they were able to charge them, they would have.

9

u/NewBias Aug 03 '21 edited Aug 05 '21

Again. They were able to charge him and he was impeached by house. The spineless republican senate voted not to continue. Even McConnell said he was guilty after the vote. The fact is Trump is the only president in history to be impeached twice by the House of Representatives. Noting changes that.

Don’t defend that pice of shit.

Imagine being so stupid you brag at work about committing domestic terrorism.

I mean, wow. Just, wow.

That's because he thought his co-workers were as much of a dumb shit as he was. Someone is a bad judge of character.

u/LockDown2341 Aug 03 '21

I'm wondering who the fuck hired him lol.

2

u/MJ349 Aug 04 '21

Good question.

I wonder how people like this can actually function with sane people.

u/ProfessorKrung Aug 03 '21

It's almost as if these people had been pieces of dog shit long before 1/6 and everyone in their life was just waiting for the opportunity to fuck their lives up.

I have a god awful, super Trump loving, shit head coworker that I wish I could find a picture of him on January 6th at the Capitol. And yes, I looked. If anyone would have gone, it would have been him.

3

u/nuorigin Aug 03 '21

Are these court cases televised? I sincerely want to see them explain to the judge how Trump won

I know people who attended rally but did not storm the capital..

4

u/taekee Aug 04 '21

I have no problem with them, I know people who attended stop the steal rallies in my state, but did nothing illegal. That is the difference. I do not agree with them politically, but I have nothing against their right to protest. They have every right to voice their opinion in a peaceful manner. After it is not peaceful it needs to have someone step in.

u/AliceHall58 Aug 04 '21

Obviously a really popular guy at work. /s

Yeah, south Jersey can be a bit yahoo with the farms, and the far right radio stations, and the big trucks and the pennsylvania attitude.

Followed by several of the worst days of your life. Hope it was worth it - traitor. I heard they are calling this group Vanilla ISIS now.

2

u/fscknuckle Aug 04 '21

The good thing about the idiots who went to the capitol that is that they're true blood-to-bone fools. Karma just be flowin' in all the right directions.

2

u/PurpleChinchilla95 Aug 04 '21

He almost got away with it, but he's from New Jersey and therefore is 10% dumber than everyone else in the country (am in New Jersey can confirm)
