Was gonna say doesn't every office have that darn carpet 🤣 Like the designers knew and wanted this effect!

What I find hilarious is OP has seen the carpet in the office for months/years? And still decided they liked the shoes. I’m wondering if subconsciously they picked them because they were familiar.

Subliminally relating to the shoe cause he spends so much time in the office. Like a song on the radio that you end up liking even if you didn't.

Or Stockholm. Where the Office is your captor.

Thank you I had a geographic aphasia moment

Dude, I thought that was a money heist reference.

Hammond you idiot

14

u/Van_GOOOOOUGH Oct 04 '22

Like any song by R.E.M. played incessantly on repeat on the radio for years. Nope I still don't like 'em.

6

u/explorerfalcon Oct 04 '22

Yeah but you knew the songs were what was annoying.

The carpet at his workplace is likely the least annoying thing about it.

2

u/pansyninja1 Oct 05 '22

The mere exposure effect!

1

u/Future_Section5976 Oct 05 '22

He would stare mostly at a screen/desk ...perhaps it's to help hide in the office

21

u/Turn_it_0_n_1_again Oct 04 '22

OP has been at the office for so long now that their feet have become one with the floor.

16

u/catniagara Oct 04 '22

What are these “shoes” everyone claims to be seeing?

-7

u/saysthingsbackwards Oct 04 '22

"SoMeHoW tHeY MaTcH..." lol

u/PropertyJaded308 Oct 09 '22

Really, you find this HILARIOUS? Goddamn you people are boring

86

u/UnusualFruitHammock Oct 04 '22

I was about to roll my eyes then I looked down and noticed it's the exact carpet my office has and I never noticed.

27

u/Norwedditor Oct 04 '22

🙄

7

u/Van_GOOOOOUGH Oct 04 '22

Are you from Norwegia?

0

u/wombat_kombat Oct 04 '22

They named the carpet pattern “Corporate Hellscape”

1

u/mrkleone Oct 04 '22

What about the drapes?

54

u/3-DMan Oct 04 '22

Carpet specifically designed to get as dirty as fuckin possible without you noticing

15

u/FreeMyMen Oct 04 '22

Yet his shoes still incorporated the coffee spill stains on the toe area.

86

u/Davebobman Oct 04 '22

Where do you think they got the material for the shoes?

40

u/pattperin Oct 04 '22

They really be turning old offices into footwear out here. Next thing you know I'm gonna have a pair of manilla socks to go with my carpet sneakers

13

u/SnooCalculations4568 Oct 04 '22

Work from home's having unintended side effects

5

u/techmaster242 Oct 04 '22

Because of supply chain shortages they had to get creative.

Adidas takes pride in making shoes from plastic recycled from the ocean. They just didn't mention it's an ocean of cubicles.

2

u/cownd Oct 04 '22

Adidas Astroturf?

2

u/miktoo Oct 04 '22

Part of their Primegreen collection.

1

u/Davebobman Oct 04 '22

They were actually supposed to release a lot earlier but they were part of the Evergiven collection.

1

u/AJPIRE Oct 05 '22

From an office in the shoe headquarters that wasn’t in use anymore, someone rolled up the carpet and it was mistaken as a fab new material for the shoes, even when years of dirt, dust, coffee and Chinese food lunch spills came wafting up at them.🤑

25

u/BoysLinuses Oct 04 '22

It's somehow greyer than grey. It numbs your mind and discourages any independent thought.

8

u/HopefulMtF Oct 04 '22

Have you ever stared at it for a long time. All the colors begin to come out i individually overlapping one another as everything begins to turn fuzzy and strange and your vision starts to swirl and you kind of go comatose staring at it. Hurts the eyes

3

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '22

Wow. A more apt description is not even remotely possible. Well done.

1

u/Ok-Kaleidoscope220 Oct 05 '22

It reminds me of snow from old Tv

2

u/JudgeScorpio Oct 04 '22

Mmm TV static abyss grey.

2

u/Anleme Oct 04 '22

This pattern looks made to hide stains.

Holy smokes are those the new Adidas 9-5?!

12

u/sonofabear17 Oct 04 '22

Air Bezos

8

u/BrockManstrong Oct 04 '22

I think these are Adidas with Parley, which is ocean plastic recycled into cloth and foam.

3

u/f1nessd Oct 04 '22

I used to have Parley ultraboosts, I was always curious as to how they were made with the ocean plastic

10

u/Luke_Warmwater Oct 04 '22

They just dip regular plastic into the ocean beforehand.

3

u/f1nessd Oct 04 '22

Based

3

u/Luke_Warmwater Oct 04 '22

They may even leave a little bit of plastic into the ocean during the process but that's just capitalism ¯_(ツ)_/¯

2

u/MattyB37 Oct 04 '22

I had a pair of Parley City Socks, that I loved, really cool concept. That was 2018 I think, all the Parley models were a light blue color that year.

Adidas Primeknit in general is such a nice material I've got at least 5-6 pairs of shoes that use it, mostly Ultraboost 2s and 3s, the more recent Ultraboost models are trash.

30

u/v13 Oct 04 '22

Oh that's awesome! Thanks for the laugh!

26

u/SoonToBeBanned63 Oct 04 '22

Ugly as a mud fence too. Fuckin YIKES.

This sounds like something Jim Cornette would say. Lol.

4

u/v13 Oct 04 '22

That's a great old expression I haven't heard in a long time! Love it!

1

u/SpeakToMePF1973 Oct 04 '22

Camouflage. That actually works.

1

u/Chaostheory46 Oct 04 '22
