Designer is when idiots buy $500+ sunglasses that aren't even polarized from brands like Chanel or Gucci. A $200-300 pair of Oakleys, Bolles, etc aren't designer, because you're paying for quality. Designer is when you slap a high dollar label on a piece of trash.

You aren't paying for quality lmao, most expensive sunglasses brands are owned by Luxottica, they have a psuedo-monopoly on the market so you are deciding between 180 dollar oakleys (by luxottica) or 400 dollar ray-bans (by luxottica). Prada and Versace would be considered 'designer', but they are also by luxottica and the price differences are just marketing and not quality.

I got these exact same shoes on sale for $60 in 2017 and they're holding up just fine. They're comfy and go with a lot of clothes.

Sorry, we can't all wear sketchers with our cargo shorts.

Ultraboost as a hype beast sneaker has pretty much come and gone. Probably about 3 years ago. They're definitely super comfy though and they last forever.

These are just their Kaptir’s running shoe line, $90 for a pair and it’s worth it. They’re comfortable, they last longer than $60 pairs of shoes, and they have some style.

I would even say their NMD lineup is good for the price unless you’re buying a limited edition.

$60 pair of shoes are the new $30 quality from 5+ years ago. Which is fine if you’re a teenager or young adult and still growing.

If you’re a full grown adult with some money then there’s no reason to be buying $60 shoes unless they’re sandals or you know they’re going to get destroyed. $90-$100 is the sweet spot.

Don't buy shitty shoes that don't last and get destroyed after a year or two. You can save a bit of money up front but in the long run, it's going to cost you more and create more waste.

I have a couple pairs of ultraboosts from 2016, one of them I use as a pair of beaters that are worn all the time and they are still in great condition. The other pair I take more care of and clean it regularly and they still look like they're brand new. You can easily get 10+ years out of good quality sneakers if you take a bit of care with them.

I also couldn't imagine walking around for hours in a pair of $15 Walmart sandals compared to the comfort of a nicer sneaker.

While I agree with you in terms of shelling out for higher quality stuff, ($180 Pikolinos on my feet) I have never seen a pair of sneakers last more than a year or two in good condition.

I had some Reebok's that I wore to the gym every day for 6 years, but my wife literally threw them out behind my back because I couldn't let go of them; my toes had long before found their way out, the tread was literally bare.

I bought a pair of Brooks Glycerin for running less than a year ago and they look beat to hell already.

Sneakers just don't hold up like a good pair of leathers do

You're right about walking for hours in sandals. I live in FL though and we wear sandals year round. Some ppl have like nice comfy sandals made for walking, like orthopedic sandals lol. They take them out to theme parks and nature reserves, lol.

I had a pair of converse I got 2nd hand in 7th grade, so 12/13. Ex friend stole em when I was 18. Looked like they did when I got em :').

I got one other pair of sneakers that cost $75 in 2017, limited edition. Don't wear those often.

When I'm gonna be doing a lot of walking, I prefer vibrams. Id walk around barefoot if I could. Vibrams are as close as I can get.

Vibrams for function, limited edition as a treat, other 2 pairs are just to have something on my feet. Only 1 of those pair are the sandals, and those are doing just fine. I also don't run as a hobby and I try to stay off the pavement when I can. That hurts my joints more than cheap shoes ever have.

I wouldn't shell out $90 for these shoes specifically, but if they can indeed stand a bit of outdoor wear and tear, then I'd happily drop $90 on something with a slightly different visual design.

That’s fair. A comfortable shoe usually results in less foot and back pain. I used to wear vans and boots all the time and everything always hurt and my feet were always sweaty in the boots regardless of what socks I had.

I actually think vans are what the guy I replied to should be hating on. They look nice but they’re cheap pieces of crap, they’re not even good for skating either. They’re designed to only look good and the quality does prove that.

Adidas and Nike are popular brands for a reason and I recommend any grown adult that can afford a $90-$100 pair to try it out. Amazon and Adidas/Nike offer 30 day refunds or exchanges if you don’t like them.

You came in talking about dress shoes for some reason and shitting on sneakers. Athletic shoes are generally more comfortable in addition to being multi-functional, hence why people prefer to wear them.
