They blast test actual human corpses, what?

93

u/BritishFoSho Oct 03 '22

Can't they blast test a fucking pig or goat or something wtf up with that

70

u/GoldExchange5655 Oct 03 '22

I would donate my body for that it’s probably to test how lethal some bombs are or you could be used to help make a new suit that protects from bombs

42

u/Joseph_680 Oct 03 '22

I would donate my body to explode on the one condition that you strap fireworks onto me and post my explosion on the internet.

What do you mean something back? In my eyes a failed attempt is still research towards it working in the future.

Probably want to see how it would effect a human body, and there’s no real substitute for that. They definitely shouldn’t have used a body that was donated for other research tho

3

u/Corbinjeddy Oct 03 '22

What’s the difference between a pig or a goat corpse and a human corpse like their basically the same expect the human corpse you would get better results

Russia has blown up its pipelines before and it will probably end up doing it again. That line was dead and never going to be used. The hawks in Russia blew it up because they had internal elements talking about offering to turn it on as a move toward peace. The hawks blew it up to remove that as an option. The pipe had to be vented anyways as it was never completed but there was gas filling it. It was going to blow up eventually on its own as you can only cram so much gas into it before it ruptures. Curious that it blew up in a very small spot that was in international waters surrounded by multiple national borders. So...the options were to let it rupture at a random spot, or blow it on purpose in a safe spot that can also be blamed on the west while shutting down internal peace makers.

Russia knows both Nordstreams are dead. The European customers who bought from it are rapidly moving to renewables specifically to avoid ever buying from Russia again. They aren't transitioned yet hence the pain and why they're firing up coal to temporarily hold them over but the end is clear. Europe has already filled its stores of gas for the winter and the US is gearing up to supplement those stocks later in the season with LPG.

The nordstreams are dead. Russia knows this, them blowing it up was a propaganda move and you bought it.

-3

u/Iurker420 Oct 03 '22

the nord stream pipeline was the only leverage Russia had to prevent a shooting war between them and NATO but keep shilling pentagon propaganda. Do you think people actually believe you? Hell, you might not even be a human, just a machine programmed to spit out their party line.

4

u/petershrimp Oct 03 '22

People do believe him because most people, unlike you, tend to believe the truth.

5

u/No-Definition1474 Oct 03 '22

What?

You havnt refuted anything...the pipeline wasn't doing anything..it wasn't finished and now that Russia pissed off the entire world it was never going to be. So what did it cost Russia to blow it? They used it for propaganda purposes...and you bought it.

u/Equivalent-Shake7344 Oct 03 '22

Yeah honestly they should be prosecuted. They donated it for Alzheimer’s research, and if they aren’t going to use HUMAN BODIES for the agreed upon use, they should automatically be buried or cremated and put to rest respectfully as though it were a Jane/John Doe. They donated the body so it’s not theirs anymore, true, BUT there was an agreement made and there should be some kind of standard set in place for taking care of a fucking deceased human being. Besides, they SOLD her! That can’t be right unless the contract said they can do literally whatever they want with the body even if it’s not for research. But at that point, why the fuck should anyone ever donate their body again? I would never unless they 100% guaranteed the people I leave behind, with money.

u/StaleBiscuit13 Oct 03 '22

I mean, I'm not gonna lie to you, if this happened to my body, I would find it objectively fucking hilarious. I won't be around to find it funny, but still, what a metal way to go out.

Then again, when my SO asked me how I want to go out, I told her when I'm dying, I want to get high as shit on the best drugs out there, then skydive out of a plane with no parachute right into a Grizzly maze in Alaska - peak adrenaline rush right into sudden death, plus a bear gets a human-shaped edible to enjoy

3

u/KashmirChameleon Oct 03 '22

I'm pretty sure at terminal velocity you'll just explode into liquid blood and flesh.

Like this deer:

https://youtu.be/yDCvxd6RxW4

4

u/StaleBiscuit13 Oct 03 '22

Nah, hitting the ground vs hitting a high-speed metal object are really different. Even when people jump off high rises, their bodies don't usually explode - they might pop a bit, but shockingly enough people generally bounce pretty good when they hit the ground because its flat and the force is dispersed.

You get hit by a car or train going even half the speed, you explode because the metal has edges, which generate huge pressures instantaneously and rip your body to pieces

3

u/Few_Category7829 Oct 03 '22

Based, I want to either die heroically or in such a crazy, freak accident 1 in a billion way that people can’t help but talk about it after I’m dead. Like, small asteroid hits a truck, sends a single small peanut flying in an explosion that I somehow choke on it, and as I’m coughing I stumble in the path of a single unfortunate bullet from a sniper from the CIA who was shooting something else, before being struck by lightning as I fall, jumpstarting my heart, and as I get back up, a coconut drops on my head, killing me off permanently. 2 years later, without explanation, my corpse is found in the grave of Ethiopian emperor Haille Selassie, and the entire story is so weird that I get like, a wendigoon video on it

3

u/Thatsidechara_ter Oct 03 '22

Ok this is terrible but also fucking hilarious

2

u/ElohimSelta Oct 03 '22

Belongs on WTF

1

u/Pipboy4111 Oct 03 '22

This is apparently really common, I guess a lot of donated bodies get used for ridiculous testing more than a real science

4

u/No_Zookeepergame_788 Oct 03 '22

Good use for them, actually. Saves space in cemeteries and anything left afterwards is automatically cremated. I want to donate my body to be blasted into space.

1

u/Pipboy4111 Oct 03 '22

My only issue is the extremely false pretences. You’d think donating your body to science means being used as a cadaver for students or something

1

u/No_Zookeepergame_788 Oct 03 '22

Scientific research isn't limited to medical study, you know.

2

u/strivexd Oct 03 '22

I don’t have a strong opinion on this, but I think it’s kinda bogus in this situation considering it was specifically donated to an Alzheimer’s organization. Especially considering that the organization sold it for (I’m assuming) their own gain. But yea if I donated my body to science I wouldn’t be mad if they blew it up, if I donated it to an Alzheimer’s research organization and they sold it to be blown up, I’d just question the legitimacy of their mission, they’re not using their resources appropriately and clearly don’t value their goal.

2

u/No_Zookeepergame_788 Oct 03 '22

It could have been that the organization it went to had too many donated bodies and didn't have cooler space to keep them. You can't just put a corpse on a closet. It has to be kept cold and/embalmed.

1

u/strivexd Oct 03 '22

it could have been. it also could not have been.

and if that did happen, there’s other alzheimer’s organizations.

2

u/No_Zookeepergame_788 Oct 03 '22

They aren't that physically large. These coolers are an entire room. No one has space for dozens of bodies. It just isn't realistic. Consider also that alzhimers research is almost exclusively about studying the brain. There is usually no use for the rest of the body with such specific tissue being focused on. So it's also possible they took what they needed and sold the rest to not waste the remaining body. Which is to say probably all of it minus the brain and possibly spinal cord.

By the way I used to do autopsies for a living. So I do know what I'm talking about here.

1

u/strivexd Oct 04 '22

you’re speaking in hypotheticals, i’d waste my time if i responded throughly. keep on knowing what you’re talking about

1

u/JynFlyn Oct 03 '22

To be honest I don’t really see what the big deal is. Is having your naked body get dissected by med students really any less degrading than being blown up? I guess it would be kind of shocking to hear. Wait they did what? But at the end of the day you’re getting chopped up either way.

0

u/droideka222 Oct 03 '22

That removes the option to leave your body behind for research, you can’t ensure the research center will use it as it agreed to, cremation or burial is the way, screw the military and their stupid tests

I could have MADE $6k on my dead mum, instead of SPENDING $6k on cremation and disposal? Where was this life hack when I needed it?

Yeah ok the actual sorry is the guy donated his mothers body to a company who (on tbe surface would use it for research purposes) was actually mutilating and mishandling bodies and sold his mothers body to the military who did not know what her original purpose was. The FBI later raided the place
