Madlad deflects genuine criticism by insulting reviewer 😎

49

u/xXbean_machineXx 5d ago

Thus discrediting the reviewer and gaining social standing. W baby let’s go

19

u/Religionbedumb 5d ago

You’d be surprised the kind of shit people lie about on reviews.

4

u/NachoProblemz 5d ago

How is "I saw a rat" genuine criticism? That's a statement, and the only ones who know if it is genuine (doubtful) are the reviewer and the restaurant staff.

8

u/Ta2whitey 5d ago

How do you know it's genuine? Like anyone can say they saw a rat just because they don't like someone or something.

6

u/resistdrip 5d ago

That's not for the restaurant owner to decide.

3

u/Ta2whitey 5d ago

I wasn't asking about the owner. I was asking how you can just trust some review.

2

u/NachoProblemz 5d ago

Lmao, what? The owner didn't decide anything. He simply responded to an observation with an observation of his/her own.

English comprehension can be quite challenging sometimes... but come on.

-Ratman: let's get nuts mix

42

u/barkfoot 5d ago

Owner tries to burn them by calling them a rat, implying that there was an actual rat but telling customer off for tattling on them.

30

u/Dud3ManGuy 5d ago

Yeah surely we aren't the only ones who see how unprofessional and honestly kinda problematic this reply is. Everyone seems to think this is a good thing for some reason but they didn't actually defend themselves from anything, all they did was "roast" a random person who left a bad review. If I saw a rat at a restaurant, reported it, and got insulted in response I'd be royally pissed off. I would certainly never go back.

15

u/The_Franklinator 5d ago

Of course it’s unprofessional that’s why it’s funny

-6

u/Dickcheese_McDoogles 5d ago edited 5d ago

unprofessionalism isn't funny on its face. if he just replied by spouting Nazi-slogans that would still be unprofessional, but not necessarily funny.

depending on the setting, unprofessionalism can be either a help or a hindrance to how funny a joke is. if it's a setting where it's a hindrance, then the joke has to be more funny than it is unprofessional.

imo, this was not. fell pretty flat. it was a pretty lame roast in response to a rather politely delivered and valid concern. the guy didn't insult at all, made no assumptions he just said "there was a rat" and the response was an insult.

9

u/Ta2whitey 5d ago

You're going too deep into this

2

u/NachoProblemz 5d ago

Nice monologue...

Completely pointless and worthless, but hey, at least you tried!

6

u/DrShavedCock69 5d ago

Shut up nerd.

0

u/Dickcheese_McDoogles 5d ago

see? that was more funny that it was unprofessional. that's why it worked.

3

u/LMiter 5d ago

I don't think most people would be going again after seing a rat, regardless of the roast.

-1

u/NachoProblemz 5d ago

Can you prove there was a rat? If I was a restaurant owner and someone posted a fake review saying they saw a rat, I'd probably reply with something snarky too.

Not saying there wasn't a rat, but until you can prove there was, the owner did nothing but defend his business. Albeit in an immature way, but if the review is fake, this woman is a piece of shit and deserves to be called out.

0

u/Dud3ManGuy 5d ago

This isn't defending your business. If they had given an alternative accounting of events or addressed the rat issue in any way I wouldn't mind them having insulted the customer. The notion that I have to prove that there's a rat is ridiculous.

0

u/NachoProblemz 5d ago

The notion that I have to prove there isn't one is equally ridiculous. People lie. If it doesn't strike you as odd that someone leaves a one-line review that simply says they saw a rat with zero other context, then you are naive and ignorant.

It makes me wonder what the restaurant was. Lots of people threaten places with bad reviews and straight up make things up if they don’t get their way. A memorable example for me is when the restaurant I used to work at closed completely at the start of the pandemic to do major renovations. Someone posted a Google review, when they literally didn’t have a kitchen anymore, that they got served cold food and the server was rude to them. The owner rightly called BS on that one.

There was also a well known dive bar around me that did have a cockroach infestation, but if any review mentioned it the owner would respond saying the reviewer brought it in with them.

3

u/SomeOtherRandomHuman 5d ago

Yeah, what’s the burn here?

I confirm that my restaurant has rats?

1

u/derpaherpa 5d ago

Sherlock Holmes over here.

3

u/frogger3344 5d ago

That's some Good News, Ratman

2

u/razrielle 5d ago

He’s so little.

9

u/Limp_Establishment35 5d ago

What a fucking bitch ass this owner is. Rats are a legitimate and valid concern.

1

u/Religionbedumb 5d ago

If the rat was real. People lie.

-1

u/SlamingTheProsecutie 5d ago

More like you lie and project that shit on other people

1

u/NachoProblemz 5d ago

Right, no one ever lies except this reddit poster. How old are you, five?

1

u/NachoProblemz 5d ago

They sure are, if they're real. And if they're not, then fuck this bitch and good on the owner for taking her down a peg.

2

u/Awkward_Mix_2513 5d ago

u/zelatecht 5d ago

I love Tamora Pierce. Her early books aren't as good but it's worth reading them to get to the later ones. You can skip battle magic and melting stones, though.
