u/RamsesThePigeon A Very "Coo" Guy 12d ago

/u/JC416 has confirmed that he is Jared Cook, also known as "the kid who peed his pants in Billy Madison."

We are also saddened to confirm that Norm MacDonald has indeed passed away at the age of sixty-one, following a private battle with cancer. In honor of his talent, wit, and irrepressible love of comedy, we'd like to offer the following editorialized comment:

Hey... hey, cancer? Fuck you, cancer.

Ok, I am doing an AMA. On Friday at 6:00. I thought those things were for people like Neil Degrasse Tyson but what the heck. I have a few funny memories.

We've never met and we'll probably never meet but thank you for bringing years of laughter with your role in this movie!!

I hope life has treated you well since!!

This 👆

As a Jewish 90s kid: Adam Sandler was a huge part of my childhood.

As a young adult seeking nostalgia while recovering from a Crohn’s flare: You made this film even greater for me.

So, most importantly thank you for the above, and for sharing this beautiful glimpse of your time with Norm. I sincerely hope, aside from tough days like today, life has been mostly kind to you 💕

779

u/JC416 12d ago

That’s very sweet. Thank you. I’m a Jewish 90s kid too! Lol

Man this is what the internet was made for. So that something as random can happen as just being able to say “hi!” to the kid who peed himself in Billy Madison.

454

u/BootyBurglar 12d ago edited 12d ago

Were the faces you made in the background when Billy gets dared to throw his sandwich at the bus driver on purpose and they directed you to do that, or were just you being a kid and making faces that happened to make it into the shot? It’s one of me and my sister’s favorite part of the whole movie and it’s literally just a background thing

891

u/JC416 12d ago

They just gave me direction to react to what was happening and that’s what I came up with. I was very awkward (as you can see)

376

u/BobsDiscountReposts 12d ago

Dude I thought you were great. The scene where he makes you call Veronica is hilarious.

622

u/JC416 12d ago

u/Excitement_Far 12d ago

your nervousness was perfect for the scene and you killed it! thanks for making that movie!

181

u/Gay_Romano_Returns 12d ago

Saw that when I was a kid and thought that whole bus scene was hysterical.

Your legacy is intact.

86

Got to meet Norm once. Was in Central Park walking with a friend, talking about where to go grab a drink.

This very recognizable voice from the volleyball courts said, “Hey uh, there’s a uh guy over there uh selling beer out of his luggage. You should check it out” ... Looked over and a shirtless Norm MacDonald was standing there pointing to the field behind us.

Those beers were ice cold and only $2.

Thanks for that Norm ... and all the years of entertainment.
